Future Aircrafts with Indian Air Force and Indian Navy

Well IAF has T-22M amd not M3, Tu22M is a completely different aircraft it has it's origions in the Tu22 Blinder, a look at an early Backfire prototype can see the resembelance. The Tu22 Blinder was dissapointing in bomb load, speed and range. The greatly changed Backfire was intended to address these shortcommings.

India has leased four Tu-22M since 2001. I dont have any idea if they are planning to purchase it or, have already purchased.

However The Indian Navy operates eight Tu-142 aircraft.Upgrading of the aircraft are taking place. One the upgraded aircraft has been handed over to the Indian Navy. The eight aircraft will be fitted with the Brahmos cruise missiles.

india was planning to purchase strategic bomber from other countries?:rofl:

What can we say we are not developed country in aerospace. But even a super developed country with all the best techs. in aircraft manufacturing can make a decent engine for its fighter.

Now can we get back to the thread please.

sorry, but is there a precedent for such a deal? i wouldn't laugh at it even if india claimed that she was developing strategic bomber.....

oh come on guys, It dosent matter weather we bought from others or we made it ourselves. It only matters weather we have it or not.
May be we are late, but for sure we will catch up soon.

india should looking purchasing hornets from australia. Australia will be discontinuing them soon to be replaced either by the JSF or f22 raptor. india could get a very good deal for them with a watered down radar and avionics.
