The reason for that is simple. PKK support is deeply ingrained amongst the Kurds living in Turkey, so much so that it will never die, unless Turkey exterminates all the Kurds...

The reason for that is simple. PKK support is deeply ingrained amongst the Kurds living in Turkey, so much so that it will never die, unless Turkey exterminates all the Kurds...

Dude don't you think that even the common Kurd, assuming had they been supporting the PKK to begin with and this is a big assumption, would have realized that the PKK isn't exactly fighting for them when innocent Kurds die every time PKK blows something up in the middle of a street whereby for every Turkish soldier or security person many other Kurds die. I'm sure Turkey would be able to find a balance between the desire of the Kurds to have some sort of State patronage for their culture and their language and the dominant 'Turkish' culture of the country; either way...I think President Abdullah is a Kurd..isn't he ? How oppressed could the Kurds be if one of their own is the 'Head of State' of the 'Republic of Turkey' ?

Gul is not a Kurd, he comes from Kayseri which is not a Kurdish city. Also I believe that Kurds mainly blame the Turks for Kurdish civilian deaths (atleast the ones I have met). Also it goes beyond the PKK, they just want more freedoms. Do you know that Turkey has banned the letters W, Q and X because they are heavily used in Kurdish. So because of this Kurds can't use many of their common words and are not allowed to name their children in Kurdish. These policies have a lasting affect on people, not to mention the intense racism towards Kurds by Turks which is even shown on this forum, heck even on this thread.

I confess that I haven't been exposed to the Turkish-Kurdish issue that much because living here in Pakistan I've got enough spicy current affairs to sift through as it is but if I had to think something off the top of my head : The Turks on this forum, Deno, Quasar, Zulkarneyn, Selim, Legionaire, TurAr and Targon etc. - they're a pretty...pretty decent bunch of people and I find it hard to believe that they'd be racist towards to the Kurds. Come to think of it...isn't one of the members from Turkey here on PDF also an ethnic Kurd ?

If you are referring to TmmrHt or whatever his name is then he claims to be half Kurdish... But anyway I don't want to start a flame thread so will not continue to post on why Kurds hate Turks lol... Now on the racism in this forum, the ASQ guy called them goat-f**kers, ottomon turk also used racial slurs against them. And hyperion above said he wants to kill 20,000 kurds and set their villages on fire...

So what? Many of us warned them. I myself said "you're not by brother" to ASQ because of his racism towards Kurds.

Not much as you think, and the main reason of it is PKK, people had no problem with Kurds until PKK beginned its terrorist acts, think about that, lets say Persians has generally no racist attitude againts Azeris but Azeris established a seperatist terrorist organization and started killing people, isn't it would cause a hate among the common people againts Azeris ?

Of course there are but not that much as you're thinking. It exist even in this forum, which is using by mostly educated people. But the main reason of hate is PKK, the terrorist organization that you questioned...

Both side has extremists, other than that we have no problem with each other.
