I know you're being funny, but to people who seriously think France is a dictatorship, it's not. The current president Macron barely won his recent elections and will likely lose the next. He's facing multiple votes of no confidence, so even if he wins one at least one of the votes is gonna kick him out.

Also, at least the police in France hasn't rolled out the tanks, or started shooting at civilians.
