There is no need for US to counter China through Russia, Russia is way beyond China's reach militarly, And I agree India is going to be used to counter China, but unlike Soviet-Pakistan situation, India has a Beef and geniuine military confrontation with China.

For US, China is bigger threat at the current level since Russian Power Projection capability have depleted and stagnent while China's are increasing with a rapid rate.

HA ha ha you are so funny man u make me laugh.china and russian border dispute thats why russians are willing to sell just about any thing to china.its the chinese that dont want it like that.as they prefer to make it them self.india and usa having the smililar views now thats funny.i just have 1 question to all the indians USA is pumping money into india to counter china .its a well known fact.and am i to believe in return for economic help at this magnitude Americans will alow indians to keep buying from Russia and ignore American companies.THats almost a wet dream knowing americans history i just doubt that will happen.
India isnt saudia u are missing 1 very big ingredient thats called oil.only thing u could offer to Americans is buy from them.it will be kind of hard or impossible for india to ignore Americans and keep buying from Russia.but if u can pull this off my hats off to you.:army:

Its heavily in Russia's interest to see an armed and powerful India. India and Russia are allies so to speak. China on the other hand is a threat to Russia. Russia and China were at it during the cold war too. For Russia China will be a bigger threat than the US in some time, and they reaslise this full well.

Russia will be happy to have a powerful ally in the region ie Asia with whom they have no quarrel whatsoever. They want Russia and INdia and China to unite to be against US, however, China is in the equation because it brings to the table immense capabilities, economic and military.

We on the other hand have Russia as an ally, Israel and now US just to counter China. Best of all worlds.

Russia is an emerging power again Jana, if you havent heard the term BRIC countries. These are the rising countries. Russia is modernising its armed forces. Investing money in R&D again. Its a sleeping giant, wait for a decade or maybe 2, and you wil see a resurgent Russia. Its extremely important for us to have Russia and vice verce as an ally.
