Former Pakistani cricketers praise India for money: Sehwag

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag believes Pakistani retired cricketers are attracted by big money and this is the reason they are working in India and praising the players a lot.

The former right-hand batsman specifically targeted former Pakistan fast-bowler Shoaib Akhtar during his conversation with stand-up comedian Vikram Sathaye.

“Shoaib has been praising Indian players a lot these days,” exclaimed Sathaye, to which Sehwag reacted: “That is because India main business chahiye (they want business in India). They know India is a huge market for cricket. If they talk good about Indian cricket, they will get business.Sab paise ka chamatkar hai yeh (it’s the power of money).”

Moreover, Sathaye also mentioned former Pakistan right-arm quickie Rana Navedul Hasan.

“Rana Naved is also talking a lot of good things about our cricket,” remarked Sathaye, to which Sehwag said: “He may be taking a cue from Shoaib, hoping that Star Sports or someone will pick him. You see all these former Pakistani cricketers want some business from India.”

Furthermore, Sehwag said that his kids would always tease him if they ever lost to Pakistan.

“My kids would tease me a lot if we lost to Pakistan,” recalled Sehwag. “They would be worried about their friends teasing them the next day in school. So, imagine the pressure on me from my kids when I used to bat.”

MIght be true. The same Akhtar once said that he saw Sachin's legs trembled in fear of facing him, that he can beat Indian team anyday , along with some fiery comments by Akram that India were afraid to face them, blah, blah, blah before 2003 World Cup. Now singing peons on Indian cricket

Sehwag is right. Not only cricketers every pakistani who wants to earn some money praises india. Pakistani can praises Israel too if they got good money. Its in our blood. We are always like that since our independence. There is no doubt.

There is truth in what Sehwag said but he should have been little circumspect with his words

Whatever may be the reason,it is good to listen to shoaib akhtar ,raja and wasim akram speaking about Indian cricket..there is nothing wrong in praising players of your rival country as long as you are not demeaning your motherland in the process..I started watching cricket more with Hindi commentary ever since shoaib akhtar and ramiz started commentating(I switch to English once in a while during the match)...the way shoaib improved his Hindi is commendable(this is the same shoaib who arrogantly said to a reporter of star news(now abp news) that he can't understand him if he speaks pure Hindi..listen to him now using some pure Hindi words..hahaha)..

The rise of India will make Pakistan a Hindi speaking country not far from now...the one country which will be impacted more than any other country due to India's progress is Pakistan(especially in culture and language as both north India and Pakistan speak the same language)
