Historically people living East of the Indus have been the same people. Some present day Pakistanis who live east of Indus in areas like Punjab and Sindh have historically been proud Hindus and Hindustanis and part of our Indian civilization. People living east of the indus were never Indians but conquerors who came and conquered, Kushans, Huns, Gujjars all originally from the west of Indus.

People of rig Veda were also from originally west of India who came and created a civilized society and gave the people Hinduism.
