Forget NSA, India's Centre for Development of Telematics is one of top 3 worst online spies

Makes the chest thumping about "freedom" ring so hollow..

Who's the bigger fool: the fool who knows he is being fooled, or the fool who doesn't even know he is being fooled?

. .
Please explain ? :coffee:

Indians always say that Chinese people are under surveillance from their government for "anti-state" activities.

Turns out Indian nationals are also under surveillance from their own government. They just like to believe that it's all aimed at "anti-state" elements, not "average" Indians.

This begs the question of who decides which Indian is "average" and who is "anti-state".

Sir,

i hope you know the difference between censorship and surveillance :coffee:

Especially when you are comparing India and China :)

. . .
But IMo you are mixing these two .

how come surveillance is associated to the "hollowness' of the freedom ring ? :coffee:

Imagine if you had to wear a camera 24/7 which recorded everything you said, saw and heard. And your movements were tracked.

All because some unnamed person somewhere decided so, without your knowledge or ability to defend your case.

Would you consider yourself to be a free person?

I'd rather have our country be a police state than like yours were children can't even play in the street without the fear a Jehadi might blow themselves up next to them.

.
Are you guys serious ? you never heard about this org. ? :o::o::o::o:

Yep bro, first time hearing it.Have you heard about it before?

Yes,as long as I am allowed to do whatever I want (legally). And I do understand the cause behind it,I wouldn't mind these surveillance for the sake of national security.

Its a known fact that terror activities very widely use internet these days, and I would happily allow some analyst to peep into my bank accounts and my **** websites to avoid them.

LOL

freedom-the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants.

none of these highlighted things are getting interrupted by these surveillances . . so yes i am a free man. :coffee:

How do you know your surveillance is for national security and not triggered by any criticisms you voiced of the government?

Who decides what constitutes an "anti-state" element?

The issue is not your travels in pornland, but your private communications with your family members.

I don't know the Indian definition of "freedom" but, in the West, freedom includes the right to privacy and freedom from unreasonable searches. Surveillance of suspects traditionally requires an explicit court permit from a legal authority.

That is what Snowden complained about, and what NSA violated.

Why do you assume that this surveillance is not against anti-State elements ?

Also it's not like your government is putting us in jail or people are threatening us for voicing opinion on the internet. There is no censorship as well. No issues with surveillance as long as none of this happening

"The West" is doing it too. US and UK are also among top 3.
