i never said that, but now as you have brought it up i must ask why it is (always) that the US would either ratify (take a lead role) or otherwise (stay put) over a law that would (most likely) have to do something with some sorta controversy? - this means that the US would either like to leave an ambiguity over issues that are likely to aid her (in future) or conversely she would clarify certain rulings very lucidly so that other nations are 'caught' at the very moment they break them.Ah...So just because the US did not ratify UNCLOS that give Iran the right to threaten any ship, civilian or military, passing through the strait.
What's the difference between the strait of Hormoz and the Suez Canal? Would someone explain this to me in terms of internationally recognized laws? Thanks.
Sir! US always stopped and searched the North Korean Merchant ships while passing through international waters....and put restrictions on their passage by force. The same thing has been done through force by the Israelis warships for any freedom Flotillas/humanitarian aid ships going to Gaza through international waters...Mr. Nothing,
Why the gratuitous swipe at the USA? In what way does the USA threaten shipping that passes anywhere in the world? Please explain how the behavior of the USA is relevant to this proposed Iranian diktat.

\india should back iran and helps israel-iran relations to improve
I guess Iran sholdn't even look/think to any Muslim country in the world for aid or help within war except the God/Allah SBWT cuz he is the only one to help Iran if the war erupts with the US....If war does ensue what countries will ally with Iran? Even most Muslim countries won't help the Iranians in this one.
Suez canal is artificial, and need to be constantly maintained. It's wholly owned by Egyptian government and it provides a revenue stream in the form of tolls. Egyptians can stop operating the canal, thereby sealing it, and it is legal for them to do that.
Strait of Hormuz is mostly international water and is owned by no one except a coastal range of 12km, so it's technically illegal for Iran to seal it.
When I saw the video of the Iranian navy commander saying "Hormoz is ours and it is under our control" I felt repulsed. You know I naturally would not have agreed to the huge military deal with the US but seeing that threat made me know that it is only to protect the intrests of our nation. I have been opposed to it here for mo ths as everyone here knows but right now I can not wait for the naval deal because simply we need it or we will suffer being helpless when our main trade route is cut.
