What's new

Ford Mustang is now world's best-selling sports car

.
"sports" car in the same way golf is consider a sport.

.
The base price is only $25K with a 300hp engine. No wide-eyed teen is complaining about the plastic interior when they buy one. Plus gas prices here are cheap.
You must be kidding in Pakistan we can buy basic model of civic in that price ...

You still won't be able to compare the features. I mean, the basic Civic here does not even have Airbags, ABS etc.
It do have ABS, but not other features, such as NAV, multimedia, Alloy rims

I always thought base price comparisons were difficult between countries because as you have pointed out just because they have the same name doesn't mean they are the same car.

The sad thing is profit is the common denominator. It's the stuff you can't see which is the really big problem. The same car sold in South America isn't legal in the US because it doesn't pass crash tests. They aren't required down there so hey why spend the money implementing it. It just makes the car less price competitive.

There was a video last year where they crashed a Nissan car built for the Mexican market against the one built for the US market. The Mexican one did not fair well. You'd have to wonder what the quality would be like in Asia (including China).

Oh well people are going to die...not our problem.

Oddly enough the Ford Mustang isn't know for having the best crash tests results.

The worst thing in all that is the fact that Honda and Toyota cars in Pakistan are still overpriced while being lower spec'd.

You can try pakwheels forums.

I have an Altis, 2010. Consumption is around 7.5 - 8 km's per liter in Karachi traffic. I doubt the Civic would be much better.

I seriously doubt that it would be 6 km/l. More likely 9 km/l unless your entire aim of life is to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h ASAP and to drive in the first 2 gears only.
