I think American is different than the Brits, and Aussie is more like American now then their British Cousin. American like car that's flashy, loud engine, big, rough, tough and wild. Brits like their car sophisticated, the more like engineering, comfort, quality, sensible, well, like many European.
I was stationed at RAF Upper Heyford for 3 yrs. I have my opinions about British cars, regular or 'sports'.

It takes a proper buffoon to classify the mustang as a sports car

Says an American. How many American cars won an F1 event? Brits hold the record for most wins. They make the best sports cars. Fact.

I'm not a fan of today's retro 1960's cars.
I prefer the sleeker 1990's cars.
My opinion about the 80s-90s is that the best pony car was the 80s F-body Firebird 5-speed 305 TPI. Am not talking about the GTA version with all the useless 'aerodynamic' body panels. Am talking about the leaner 3-gen body. That 5-speed manual shift was fun to drive. Back then, you ain't a 'real man' unless you know how to drive a stick shift. :enjoy:

We are not interested in F1 racing. We have our own.

When I was in the UK, I knew a guy who brought his Harley Sportster 883 over. He had a different girl every week on the back of that bike. Same with American sports car like the Mustang or the Camaro. Like it or not, they were different from the usual Brit fares.

true i dont know if you should take it as a good thing or a bad thing there all big, loud, flashy and pointless.
who needs that when you can have a van........

If American want sophistication, we will buy one of these

LOL....

Anyway, I guess it come down to culture, we love our V8, Pick up (or ute if you are an Australian) and you brits like car that door open like a door (in Jeremy Clarkson word) and an engine is not on top of the car.

That's just how people brought up I guess.

What kid wouldn't drool over having a car like this!

You can't tell from the angle of this pic but the windshield was so huge and sloped at such an extreme angle that it curved OVER the engine. You'd pop the hood and half the engine was under the glass.

I LOL'd everytime I popped the hood.

such a huge engine cant just go under that smaller than corolla hood lol

no sorry bikes are banned in the US because hippies use them. i dont mind a v8 engine but im more against American muscle cars simply because of the materials used.
coming from someone who has a w12 under the bonnet of his car i dont mind v8's

Chinese like Big Car, and they wanted performance, in fact, I think the way Chinese buying American Muscle car is quicker than American buying American Muscle car.

lol W12...
Not really into car now, I used to be driving flashy car (I once own a dodge viper) but now it's more about going to the shop and get enough stuff in me boot for a week not needing to come back to the supermarket kind of drive.

As I said, it's just different taste, we don't mind the interior as much as you do
