We are not embarrassed because we perhaps different understanding of Innovation. Brand Name is NOT EQUAL to Innovation. Innovation has its genesis in the people and teams of people. So may be for you its the brand and the CEO that matters.

Innovation by country is measured on the Global Innovation Index.

Here is the Global Innovation Index (2011):

China ranking this year increased by 14 places. And Hong Kong placed in the top five in the world.

Meanwhile, India went in completely the opposite direction.

So I guess while Bharat Heavy Electricals has done alright, India as a whole is moving backwards...

So India exports Military equipment to Pakistan:coffee:

yes brother!
pakistan uses landrover trucks, and the parent company of of landrover is tata.
now,by applying chinese dragon's logic,if the parent company is indian, then the subsidiary is also indian(he tells hindustan unilever in not indian but european because its parent company is european).this will make landrover an indian company, which will make pakistan army using an indian company's truck!

So you are picking the Boston Consulting Group study on Innovation, great. FYI, Russia is ranked 51st behind India and China (both import jet-engines and hitech weapons from Russia).

here is exerpt explaining the index ".. business outcomes of innovation and government's ability to encourage and support innovation through public policy... " So yes, a country can be purely ranked on the basis of public policy support.

Your attempts to punch holes into the argument HUL is not Indian enough, is at the best hilarious.

What, you think that looking at just the top ten, is "representative" of the thousands of companies in each individual country?

The Global Innovation Index ranks the countries themselves by innovation.

And even with just the top ten, Tencent ranks ahead of both Apple and Google, while Bharat Heavy Electricals only beat Monsanto. :P
