Flood Response

@RescueRanger , just a question. Does NDMA have resources at it's own disposal or does it have to rely on other agencies?

I know it has warehouses for food items and tentage etc., but does it own heavy machinery or rescue equipment as well? Can it distribute food items and tentage etc. on it's own?
To answer your question - NDMA is an executive level agency - the heavy lifting is done by Pak Armed forces and Rescue 1122, provincial, district and tehsil/UC level work is carried out by PMDA/DDMA and district admin. As such NDMA doesn't have any vehicles of its own.

Thanks....that is what I believed as well.

But this is a topic for afterwards, how to revamp our emergency infrastructure. Need to keep focus on rescue for now.

It's a good reminder for civilians to learn about basics of prepping in case of these disasters. Learn how to store food, filter water and most importantly learn HAM radios cuz as you can see for yourself mobile communication is not working.

for those of you in the UK who want to donate( i donated ), go to DEC : https://www.dec.org.uk/

DEC can also reclaim the UK tax you paid on your donation which boosts it further. And, DEC will manage the funds directly providing relief so it does not get anywhwere near those harami PDM choor's that the Pakistan Army/Bajwa has shoved down poor Pakistan's throats .....

With millions of human lives at stakes here, all your mind comprehends is PDM etc.

The presentation did become political at some point that PTI and IK achieved such n such by blaming PPP, but the base line is after effects of these floods and how this flood is going to affect Pakistan in future.
Why didn't the geniuses of the deep state (Mil-establishment) didn't anticipate nor plan for increasing water storage capacity and a canal system to mitigate against these very predictable floods over the last 40 odd years. They continued to indulge, empowered and enabled the various thieves of the political and feudal classes in the looting and mismanagement of the country and are continuing to do same to this day. Do you plan on invoking empathy every 10 years, perhaps even more frequently with Climate change, whenever a major flood hits the country.

A far easier solution would be for the Generals to forego their Popa John's franchises, Belgium Farm houses, cushy post retirement settlements/gigs and little Johnny's education/career in the West and just the let country be ruled by honest and qualified people and not their corrupt peers who report to the same colonial bosses in the West.

Been to Sehwan and the surrounding areas many times...Bhan Saeedabad, the mountain range right beside Sehwan. Good and hospitable people...really sad to see this happen. Hopefully all gets back to normal very soon.

Politics, not military related.

I have donated cash and sent two big boxes with clothes to Akhuwat through the Canada Pakistan Association fundraiser. Mashallah Canadian Pakistanis are on the ground coordinating delivery.
Yes Akhuwat foundation looks reliable. Just paid some $$ into their account.
