Flag seedha karo apna' Shahid Afridi's gesture for Indian fan is winning the internet

.
While Pakistan flag was held down he said nothing. May be he wants IPL contracts.

.
It's a natural reaction.

You come up against someone from an enemy state, you don't want to embarrass that person by throwing your symbols of national pride in their face.

You downplay them and present a more nuanced neutral posture. As the girl did.

Might be difficult for some to understand. Especially when it's culture congruent to take off your shirts as guests on the others soil and then flip bird your hosts.

Different strokes I guess.

Cheers, Doc

Maybe he just wanted the flag properly in the picture he was getting taken.

the crowd was abusing the hockey players and the crowd was calling them terrorists.

Players should have abandoned the game and walked off. but they used the abuse as a tool and got emotional beat India and then decided to give it back to the crowd after winning the match.

Some take their shirts off and some do this to their hosts.

Yup young blood. I felt sad for them to be honest. They deserved applause for the match they played.

But such are things between us ...

firmly believe sports and politics should never be mixed together.

Politicians are doing disservice to both nations. Where does the moral high ground of 'Country First' goes when these same politicians are doing corruption and stealing from the poor. But Country First only when it comes to playing sports

As I said to Kaptaan earlier.

I was in college when the wall came down.

In my 40s now and am gobsmacked at the Koreas marching under one unified flag at the Olympics.

I do not know if we are worse. And if so by how much.

But I do not see either happening before things get a lot worse first.

Cheers, Doc
