You have no idea how many guns people in the north have. 3 to 5 AKs in a household is normal. We even teach our women how to use weapons. We fought to get these lands, we fought to protect it, we are aware of the oast and prepared and on top ur leaders keep threatening us. I like the gun culture in Pakistan. Wish it wasn't so strict here but there's a big underground market for genuine beretta, glocks etc. Getting a license is tough as hell so people go the illegal route, but those are home defence ones only, too risky to let anyone know.

Why? Even with strict gun laws, we have issues of illegal firearms in places like UP, Kashmir or down south Karnataka. We don't need guns for the public, knife or machete would do just fine.

those are people doing bad things with their firearms..

but on principle I'd like for anyone who wants to get a firearm, an AK or anything else, to be able to obtain one without much hassle.

As home defence they are much more effective than a karambit, khukri or something for the general public. Even if you're in a safe neighbourhood, gun enthusiasts should be able to get their hands on them.

I like the US 2nd amendment idea, we Indians are too pussy around firearms, Pak is more evolved when it comes to people owning guns.
