Congress is trying to give them FOOD TO EAT so that they don't starve on the roads. Most importantly, this will give a legal outlet to remove the ugliness that while people starve, there are millions of tonnes of food grains rotting in our system. This provides a practical solution to that dilemma. This will also bring down food inflation by a good entent by opening up that supply.

You didnt give me the full answer.. I agree with they are giving food for the starve for argument sake.. But what if a monsoon fails?.. What are the back up projects of the government which ensures this project will go on with out hindrance.. What practical solution are you talking about?? Those food outlets have millions of tons of food grains, I agree but it will be diminished once the project took off.. Then what?? All these project is depending on monsoon and an expectation of we will be getting good harvest every year... Isnt it the biggest blunder? If not please tell me what is the Plan B of the government if things go wrong.

Think about it this way: It would keep inflation down. Millions of kids who have to work to keep family fed, might go for education. Best of all, millions would not sleep hungry.

around 25-30 percent of our population suffer from that kind of extreme poverty you mentioned above but this FSB will cover almost 70 percent of our total population WTF

congratz everyone...Congress 60 lakh crore thorium scam .... Entire of UPA should go and commit mass suicide ...

. . .
60 lakh crore.... SCUMBAGS are selling the entire country.. I will pray every day they they go to hell ...

Congress played their card very well.. They introduced it when the election was near.. They knew either way it will be a win for us.. If parties voted against it, they can blame those parties saying that they stopped the food for the poor.. If they win, the credit for food for poor goes to them.. Most political parties did not have the will to stop this bill because election was near.. #$#%$#%$%$$#% vote bank politics..

Problem is most of the people think its a good gesture.. They do not know the it was just making it hard for the next government.. Congress is trying to make sure that next government will suffer because of it.. Its just passing the buck to next government.. How you think next government will find money for this scheme.. As I said, this entire scheme was based on a hope that monsoon wont betray us and we get good harvest every day.. I am not sure these guys have a back up plan.. Next government will force to with draw this scheme sooner or later.. International Lending organisations will also ask us to withdraw this scheme before they lend us any money.. Because for them it will be an extravaganza political stunt..

Much larger number are not that poor but still spend most of their income on food. Cheap food will keep the inflation down, as well as it will enable the beneficiaries to spend on other stuff. Tons of food is wasted, which would be reduced significantly. Only thing is that whether the govt can afford it. They say they can, and untill it proves to be a false claim, there is no point in not believing it. IF they can make it in $ 20 bil as they claim, why not?

I doubt people are that stupid , i talked to a lot of people i even have friends in bihar and other places who are very poor , none of them buy this, it ain't the 70's , people are starting to see through it ... its only a matter time ...
