What's new

Fishermen's dilemma

double standards.
if pak navy 'catches' Indian fishermen then you say they violated our border but if Indian Navy 'catches' pak fishermen then its hijack of fishermen.:argh:

Ask your government what is the objective and possible gain India can have from this?

Exactly...What will they get from arresting innocent fisherman but IMO how do you know they are innocent....Navy cannot figure it out right there and then..Can it??? You know what happened when some pigs managed to cross and reach mumbai...right???

Only after complete investigation we would come to know that they were indeed innocent or not...Regarding Pakistan waters please keep in mind both Navies(PN,IN) are mature enough to know where there boundaries are so i don't buy this argument...Having said it even it there is a mistake(highly unlikely) i believe they would be released after proper investigation....

What will India get even if it kills all of them? Will Pakistani Fishermen stop fishing or Will this increase the fishing business of India some folds? This is only an expression of frustration and this has only been done to get "some" satisfaction by capturing Innocent and poorest of the poorest.

I know we are adversaries but anyone who seeks pleasure in killing of innocents is a monster...This is the attitude that i was talking about...Someone was claiming that Pakistan treats Indian fisherman better than what Indians do...He went on saying that Indian fisherman are better in Pakistani jails than indian roads...Geez..cut the crap...Animosity is on both sides...good and bad people are on both sides..

Attitude is a small thing that makes big differences and if this is the attitude which India would like to keep.. don't be surprised if we end up standing eye-ball to eye-ball and loading mass destructive weapons our missiles.

As if Indian missiles can't be loaded with destructive weapons...

Even if we end up at that, what is the gain? what is the charm of doing all that???
This is the most sensible part of your post...what is to gain..what is the charm??...IMO please understand mumbai have shaked the phyche is Indian establishment..What was considered impossible have been made possible..It is quite natural of them to be more sensitive about any vessel in the sea....However i totally agree that innocent people should not face the discomfort but current relations between us don't vouch for any respite there...

Question your government and let us know if you get some reasonable answer.
well i am an ordinary man so don't have such powers...All i have is right to vote which i exercise whenever i get a chance...In case you have such a luxury to talk to your goverment then let me know because i have a series of questions for them as well....

WTH now Indians get Inside our Territory and capture our Citizens.

A Strong message is needed to be delivered to India that we are not those simple Bengali Folks with whom you can do these type of cheap things.

Sir,

I think thread starter want to start a flame war.

No where in the headline it says that "on Pakistani Waters" just it is the thread starter's super imagination and intention that he added that in the headline.

India arrested 174 Pakistani fishermen

Tuesday, 23 Mar, 2010

THATTA: The Indian Navy arrested 174 fishermen and took away 30 fishing vessels and their catch worth millions of rupees from the Pakistan territorial waters in the Arabian Sea on Tuesday early hours.

Pakistan Fisherfolk Forum Chairman Mohammad Ali Shah told DawnNews that the fishermen, who belonged to coastal villages of Thatta, had been fishing in the ‘****** Doro creek’ when they were taken away at gunpoint.

He said incident took place when Indian Border Security Forces resorted to firing on fishermen and escorted away 174 fishermen who belonged to Chuhar Jamali and Jati tehsils of the district.

Shah said four fishermen Ramoon Themore, Sawan themore, Ameen themore and Nadeem escaped the scene and returned back in Vessel ‘Alroshan’.

These fishermen have confirmed the arrest of their relatives and claimed that Indian Border Security Forces violated Pakistan’s territorial waters and set on fire two of their vessels.

Shah called upon the government to get the fishermen released. He demanded proper demarcation of the territorial limits in the sea to save poor fishermen from suffering such ordeals.—DawnNews

Why dont you read with open eyes.

Your provided links also say that Bharatiyas have arrested poor Pakistani fishermen from Pakistani waters.

So brave of Indian Navy

yes it's very brave of indians to arrest poor fishermen. Very honourable of them.

We always hand them back, and indian fishermen are treated better in Pakistani prisons than they are on indian street.

hindoostany returns Pakistani prisoner in body bag, many of them facing torture and abuse......

Our leaders never even address this issue, we should not be averse to confronting these indian and making certain issues and standpoints crystal clear. They need to be taught a lesson.

It is only prudent to accept that it happens on both the sides.
I think we should give up trying to prove that one side is more righteous than the other.
unless you can educate me on this.

If We captured Them in pakistani waters, where is ur so called navy ? or coastguard or what ever???

Where was Indian Navy for those 10 boys entered in Mumbai, India for Mumbai Attack??????

According to Indian Government and Indian Media they enter in India via sea.

According to Indian Government and Indian Media they enter in India via sea.

Because of that Indian navy has become more vigilant after that. Anyone trying to enter Indian waters illegally is dealt with these days.

If those fisherman are innocent they will be spared. Pakistan have a good navy Indian naval ships cannot enter pakistan and do such a mass scale arrests in Pakistan without the knowledge of Pakistan navy. So the most possible scenerios is that they might have crossed into Indian waters.

yeah paritosh, can't argue with your statement. The only issue is that it seems our prisoners are getting worse treatment; many were returned home only after they expired.

I can post links if it helps clear your confusion.

Yes, if things were my way -- the 800 Pakistani and 450-500 indian fishermen would be released immediately unless they committed actual crimes. You don't use poor people to settle tense diplomatic relations, this only makes people more angry and upset (on both sides)

and quite frankly, what a waste of resources and time

What was Pak navy doing while Indian navy invaded Pak waters and also arrested 174 fishermen ?

So brave of Indian Navy tdown:

Are u blind or what???

I am pointing to the troll that "on Pakistani Waters" type of conspiracy theories and flame.

And u want to ignore that vital point. Because u have no aswer to that and u agree with that

And by the way when Pakistani Navy arrested innocent poor Indian fishermen what u call them?????

There are twice the number of Indian fishermen (550) in Pakistan's custody what u will call it supreme bravery????

So the question is not of bravery but coming to some solution so that poor people don't suffer.

What was Pak navy doing while Indian navy invaded Pak waters and also arrested 174 fishermen ?
no, wat was Indian navy doing in Pakistani waters, wake up understand the difference between wrong and right, i hope ur not a kid anymore:chilli:

Sir,

I think thread starter want to start a flame war.

No where in the headline it says that "on Pakistani Waters" just it is the thread starter's super imagination and intention that he added that in the headline.

Justin Joseph,

Honestly I have no intention of starting a flame war
The reason why I included the Pakistani Waters in this, is because the source says so.

These fishermen have confirmed the arrest of their relatives and claimed that Indian Border Security Forces violated Pakistan’s territorial waters and set on fire two of their vessels.

Since this were their claim, I included it in the title

If i had wanted to started a real flame war, I would have included ridiculous stuffs, such as Indian going into Pakistani waters, killing Pakistani fishermen, then returning back.

So please Justin Joseph, keep your mouth in check before spreading hate stuff about me trying to spread hate.

Here I am trying to create an atmosphere for discussion, and I even tolerated you posting 4-5 articles of Indian Fishermen being kidnapped by closing an eye to it.
