Depends on the context. If the guy named Jesus Montoya. If automatically be pronounced as "Hesoos" vs "Jeezus". Tejas is Texas in Spanish. that is why I call it the Texas fighter. If you are in America, you should automatically know this fact.

No, people here will pronounce Jesus as "Haysoos" if they see the Spanish accent mark, Jesús.But if they see just plain Jesus, they say the J automatically. Just like Tejas.

Go change the ***** in the Taiwanese fighter AIDC *****-1 Ching-kuo.

No, those are pronounce as "j" sound. The term Tejas would fall in the line of

Jorge Pasada. - pronounce "Horhe Pasada."
Albert Pujos - pronounce as "Albert Poohoes"
Juanita beach- Pronounce Huanita park
Tejas Rangers - Tehas rangers.

No it doesnt. Those are all Spanish examples. Tejas is an English translation of the Sanskrit name for brightness.

Jesus in Spanish pronounce as "Hesoos" not "HaySoos" with an English short 'e' instead of English long "a". For example, the name "Jose" is Hose with a short 'e'. You don't need to have the Spanish accent mark. If "Jesus" is used in a name of someone, than its obvious Spanish as no one called themselves "Jesus" in English speaking culture.

Tejas is Spanish for Texas. And I don't know what part of America are you from. But in this part of America. We all know Spanish. And when we see the word "Tejas", its Spanish for Texas. So all the people around here, including me, automatically pronounce the word as "Tehas".

Im from New York. And there are many Spanish speaking people around us mostly PRs, DRs, Cubans, etc, etc. and have heard folks say "Tejas" many times when they're talking about Texas. They say it just like how it sounds to us, Tejas with a J.

Tehas sounds absolutely absurd. This isnt coming from no raised in India person.

Bull crap. And they also say the word "Jose" with the English 'j'. either you are not in America, or you never met any Spanish speaker, or you are lying out of your teeth.

I would laugh if an American TV news reporters talk about the new Indian fighter Tejas, and of course, they will pronounce it as "Tehas" like any American would. And muse why would an Indian call their plane after the state of Texas. Or maybe he or she might thought they got it wrong and believe that the term "Indian fighter" means an American Indians boxer so the new fighter is actually an up and coming American Indian boxer with an initial of LCA is from the state of Texas.

.
Load of crap going here, we are spending time discussing an stupid point as to how people will pronounce Tejas.

1) It is least importance to us how others will pronounce.
2) Most people will figure out how to pronounce. Rest does not matter.
For gods sake stop replying to that troll who does not want to discuss on topic.

Now first worry about your AIDC *****-1 Ching-kuo

Tell me, if Tejas is the Spanish word for Texas. Why would they use the English 'j' instead of the Spanish 'j' for that word? Stop lying that about how people would suddenly pronounce the word in English for a Spanish word. Most Americans know that Tejas is Texas for Spanish and they would pronounce the word using Spanish. Even if the word is LCA Tejas.

Dude, I have heard people say Tejas, they say it with a J. Tejas with an H sound weird to me, and I'm not a India raised person. You're not the only spokesperson for the states.

Now please, fix your AIDS F*CK fighter.

THANK YOU CONGRESS FOR...Oh Shoot!...DAMN YOU BJP FOR SLOWING DOWN TEJAS!!

Sure. I think we can do better with thre resources and acces to tech we have now. Don;t you think the plane is a little dated?

Listen. I understand your anger and frustation but the plane is not world class. It will do the job its meant to but tackling China.....no F-kin way. Not even in your dreams. Pakistan maybe but looking at how China arms and gives them advanatages, not too long when they have something to counter LCA. I think it would a waster of resources to produce this numbers, focus on AMCA and redesign the LCA better. Like I said It would take 5-8 yrs....

No the plane is not outdated yet. See at our immediate neighborhood, Pakistan is inducting JF17 and it will be their backbone of future. LCA is developed as a point defence fighter which will replace legendary Mig 21s. As far as China concerned we have MKIs, Mirages, Mig 29, Su30 mki, Rafale(in 3/4 yrs), FGFA( possibly 2020). LCA is a very good design. So no need to redesign it or scrap it. It will serve its purpose what is meant for. As far as AMCA is concerned it is a paper plane now. No one knows when it will fly. As you said it would take 5-8 yrs, i.e impossible. If we started project now we can see 1st flight in 10 yrs time period and it needs another 5-8 yrs for induction.i.e 2030+.

Do you know what is the sanctioned squadron strength of IAF? What is today now? What will be it after retirement of Mig21 and mig27? Do not you think it will be a good replacement for those fighters?
