Most people join ANA to bring food to the table for their families. Its far from resembling a professional army and I have no doubt Pakistani army will rout them in a conventional war due to more rescources, numbers, training etc. Everyone knows this. Maybe Afghanistan wants Pakistan to retaliate so they can get more sympathy from international community and also bring the Afghan Taliban on their side. It will be interesting to see the stance of Afghan Taliban if things do escalate further (hopefully not ).

Information warfare: the ANA have been well taught by NATO.

Rtd.Brig Asad Munir in a program was saying that medical teams of Afghan Taliban, in 90s, would visit Mohmand agency for Polio drops and would claim that Mohmand agency belongs to Afghanistan. So this Durrand line issue is a very serious issue for all Afghans, just like Kashmir issue is for Pakistan. Thats why they opened fire on ones constructing gate, simply because they dont recognize it as international border. While Pakistanis are surprised that why Afghans are behaving like this.

So it was the ANA that was the aggressor? Still it is not correct to shoot people who are constructing a gate especially in Ramadan?

Well I say we gate and fence the close to a dozen established crossing (by vehicle) across all of Durand line. Make it difficult for anyone crossing the international boundary. They wanna fight at Torkham... Let them. It's their *** that they want to get whipped. Meanwhile we should get things in order at other places.
