Financial irregularities of Rs 50 billion detected in PAF

Its $0.5 billion; that'll fetch maybe 2 F22 Raptors !

One for you and one for me ! :smokin:
500 million is a lot , an example if we pay Russia $350 million the next 100 jf-17 block ll can have RD-93(MA)
with a speed of Mach "2" ! equal to the speed of f-16 A/B
at present block ll will have mach 1.6 -1.8

Is it 50 billion $ or 50 billion rupees....
I think it's rupees

That is a rather clutching at straws defence and a pointless tangent to the actual argument. If it appeases you Ill say the rape both sexes equally. Does that take away from the main point that corruption by either pillar of state is more acceptable than the other? Or that one should be dealt with before the other?

Stopping corruption is a must, how, who, where is secondary primary is when. But lets not go into who should be first and second as here all Government institutions fall under STATE control directly. To end this evil the leader has to come clean.

It can only be done if it is swift not like what we have presently, flawed legal legislation which is neither Islamic nor British. This evil as moved into each and every corner of the country so time is what would determine how to cure it. Normal practice is to limit or legalise it for example Doping in International Sports was allowed to a required level. Speed Tax in the US or Commissions for a particular work that is done.

There is an other possibility of a revolution but that has other problems.

My comments were not against the point you were making but on the metaphor that you used which was not adequate to the situation. I hope that this would answer the questions.

The part I find discouraging here is the lack of any existing process that would hold the generals accountable. The first thing that comes to mind is the usual "make military budgets and spending accountable to parliament", but with many in parliament itself alleged to have engaged in corruption and mismanagement, merely giving parliament the authority to carry out "accountability of military spending" will likely result in connivance between corrupt politicians and members of the military, and just add more mouths at the trough.

Ideally, an independent and empowered auditor's office and NAB would conduct audits and investigations of both civilian government and military spending, but I see little chance of effective institutional reforms being passed by the current set of legislators the electorate keeps playing musical chairs with.

pls read post 48, it might be helpfull in determining the legal issues concerning Pakistan.

Apparently even things which we insult dogs and donkeys with (Zardari or Gillani or even the ex CJ) have also turned to holy cows and are untouchables!

but one thing that makes a difference is that zardari and gillani has appeared before the court and have been given some sort of punishment since they have spent time in jail........ and as for CJ he has a shield in the form of current gov, once this is gone (whenever it is) he will face a trial, even if god forbids and matters turn even more worse and somehow ppp is installed again, they will not let him go lose, that's my prediction, as for the former two they also remain vulnerable due to weak form of democracy and system, if it starts to take a turn for good and accountability is started again, they will also be in limelight, but this is very far fetched...
but the question remains, that will the men in uniform be questioned?

I think apart from the corruption part, what would worry me would be the giving of contract to a non MES agency. Given that there is already a problem with the security being compromised on airbases, giving the contract to a private player whose background checks might not be comprehensive enough, would be a recipe for disaster.
Pakistan is already facing difficulties in this regard, why complicate it more.
Even if you disregard the money aspect, the security aspect should be regarded as a breach of professional conduct.

VIP jail is not a punishment! Its just another method to siphon tax into their stomach!

No matter which stupid govt it...NOT UNTIL civilian govt is honest, men in uniform will not be questioned coz they will be scared of coup or being questioned in return!

So dreams of such event is as far fetched as possible! Coz mind you some of the uniform people are actually a monarchy ...been in the system for generations and have managed to form a better network than the civilian govt! The other problem is civilian govt doesnt show their faces where men in uniform come as 1st level of defence for the people even if it is defence against the natural calamities! While civilian govt is useless in avoiding ore reducing damage due to such calamities!

I pray for AGP's well being. First, he got death threats for exposing scam of PML-N worth 500 Billion rupees related to IPP's payments. Now this....

You know that what is worst? Along with IPP's scam, he sent some other reports of probable scams to Public Accounts Committee who is headed by Opposition Leader from PPP. Holy crap! Expecting Justice against corruption from "democrats" of PPPP. NADA

Move forward. A case against AGP is sent to Supreme Judicial Council because he has got constitutional protection and can't be removed like ex Nadra chief Tariq Malik neither he is giving up to death threats from "democrats" of PMLN.

Voila! Expecting that the "free and independent" judiciary will give justice to AGP. NADA. The Judicial Council which has been dead since 2006 (Iftikhar Ch.'s case) is rising from ashes to prosecute AGP. Ambb le lou......

No branch is immune to corruption,,,the men in uniform are not some angels from sky.
In india too situation is pretty bad with many people having sold their soul and uniform for cash long long back.

.
My father is a retired wing commander from PAF ,all of his course mates retired as two star generals because they crossed their fingers with the corrupt senior officials and that helped them in getting promotions. On the other hand my father is a very strict person and hence did not got a higher rank .One of his course mate looted millions of rupees from the early JF-17 thunder project when was a in charge there .He retired as air vice marshal and now have 1S class Mercedes benz and 1 BMW 7 series.Bought one home worth RS 7 crore at E-7 and one one worth almost 5-6 crore at F-8 Islamabad. Where that all money came from ?? A retired air vice marshal cannot become that rich.No doubt PAF senior officers are very corrupt people and no NAB etc take action against them .

Yes thats correct.
In india they get prosecuted and court marshaled if found guilty and some have borne the brunt.

But the rot is very deep,,half the judiciary is corrupt too, then what can u do?

Well in societies where such problems do exist revolution is the only solution .As the saying goes "when injustice becomes law resistance become duty"

Not at all,the problems go away with time when education increases and that takes time.Revolution is for those countries that are under a dictator etc,u already are a democratic republic.

All that is required is some time.
