Fifteen girls wounded in Mardan attack

After using women as suicide bombers terrorists have now turned their guns on women. Do we not see that the insanity of these crimes reveals the terrorist’s ideology of hated and evil doing? This certainly is not the first time women have been targeted. Here you can read about Taliban militants destroying girls’ schools in Swat Valley.

Time and again we see testimony by Pakistani witnesses and law enforcement officials that all point to the same culprits. Do you not see that the TTP and their counterparts are retaliating because the government of Pakistan is countering insurgency? Is it not obvious that the TTP wants to defeat our common Pakistani-US objective of ending terrorism? The consistency of these attacks shows the lawless nature of these terrorists and we certainly cannot underestimate the brutality and cruelty with which these heinous crimes against women are committed. They have long surpassed all civilized human rights boundary lines while trying to achieve their evil agenda.

TTP and other terrorist organizations are leaving no stone unturned in their bid to destabilize Pakistan. The US supports and trains Pakistan’s security forces in their effort to chase the Taliban from Pakistan. We see it can be done, Swat is a prime example. Taliban had created a living hell for the people of Swat Valley. Pakistani government and military reacted to protect the people and restore stability and security. After intense fighting the Pakistani military recaptured Swat and the Taliban were either killed or driven out. We fully support the Pakistani military’s actions in the interest of its own nation in places like Peshawar, Waziristan, wherever Taliban terrorists seek to create havoc. Should we shy away from eliminating these terror networks for the safety of our nations? We cannot. The US recognizes the sacrifices being made by Pakistan in protecting its own citizens from these acts of terror, and fully supports the great nation of Pakistan in its mission to eliminate homegrown insurgency.

Bang on Centcom - the Taliban are living in a pre-historic way of life, even if they succeed, what sort of socio-economic policy do they have to improve people's lives apart from whipping women and banning music.
