That is a lot if information for one post... but it creates a bag of conundrums ... with all the ancient military might how come pretty much everyone coming from outside India had a field day? Were these weapons too sophisticated for the commoners? Why couldn't they protect their vaunted and venerable civilization? Why were these mighty locals coopted by a private corporation into fighting for and dying as mercenaries for change in the pocket? In fact better yet why didn't Indians for all that matters become cradle of civilization and instead of being ruled by outsiders, ruled the rest and enlightened them?

The only part of India that was ruled for 1000 years is modern day Pakistan. Other than that, Northern India was ruled for at most five centuries by the Mughals before being freed by the Marathas.

I'm sorry, you claimed Alexander was defeated... was he? He was provided a fierce fight but no unearthly technology seems to have made it's round. Alexander's men were already not willing to proceed further but the guy was stubborn, however he relented and returned, undefeated!

Republic? Really? Based on a translation of Mahabharata... which was itself written under a "king" is this real scholarship or brain farts?

And an essay of hindu code of war? Just like hinduism itself, making it up as you go... did they follow it as they exterminated or coopted other local religions and kingdoms?

Anyway back on topic. The works of the great ancient Indian mathematicians were spread to Arab and Persian mathematicians, who in turn spread it to the Europeans. So many of the "Muslim Golden Age mathematicians/scientists actually based their studies on ancient Indian discoveries. Another example is the mathematician Madhav of Kerala who had discovered many principles of calculus long before Newton. THen agains, it is by no means uncommon for scientists to build upon the work of their predecessors.

BTW, it is funny to see how butthurt Pakistanis are getting. UIt looks like deep down inside even they know modern-day India is one of the world's most ancient civilizations, and there is nothing they can do about it.

"indian" this ""indian" that ..seriously WTF is India? it always referred to a geography never a nation or a culture or even worst "civilization". Modern Indian state came as simple of british transfer of power. It is under no definion a nation not even a culture. Yes there are some similiarties - both bolivians and spanish have same religion, infact they even have common language which indians lack - does it mean they are same "culture" and "civilization"? you can pass off a bolivian invention as spanish invention ?

Most indians have been taught a racist view of history by british colonizers and unfortunately they continue it. As per british colonizers culture to india through vedas came from blonde blue eyes aryans and later got "corrupted" by darkies. its another matter not a single solid evidence exists for vedas and their antiquity. And britishers also were greatly facisnated by brahmins and heirachies. why were they so fascinated ?

You got to take a step back. British came from a very egalitarian protestant culture, they very recently overthrew their own priestly class from roman papacy and taught equality. but their victories and achievements suddenly made them lords of 25% of population. They desperately needed another ideology or worldview where they can abandon christian egalitarianism and believe in racist hierarchy without any christian guilt. Thats where they found Brahmanism very attractive. They made up this fake entity called hinduism and hindu culture controlled through a hierarchy - brahmin first folowed by this or that - and they ofcourse are above brahmin as the original aryan ruler. They made up many myths for that. And thats exactly what is continued by India and many indians.

THe only antidote for this is re-organization of india based on some other sound premise such as language defining the nationality.
