FIBA has already stated that Indonesia will directly go to final round. India will be with Saudi, Palestine, and in the other play off qualification group there is Guam and Taiwan.

Indonesia has invited any team to have friendly match with our team before they play in play off or final round. It is crucial for us to do this, India can actually accept the offer and come to Jakarta early.

Anyway we have called another player, Sandi Ibrahim, to join the national team practice, previously he gets some injury during IBL competition.

Indonesia is set to naturalize Marquest Bolden, NBA G-League player. 208 cm and 23 years old. FIBA only allows any team to use 1 naturalized player in every game, but it is important for Indonesia to have Marques as spare if Prosper, 32 years old, gets injured. He is still US citizen until Indonesia government gives him citizenship that hopefully can be gotten this month.

The infection rate is really doing amok in Indonesia currently, Jakarta is even one of main epicenter. So, the event could possibly be delayed in late this year like December. As SEAGAMES 2021 in Vietnam is also delayed into 2022, so it gives room for Asia FIBA Cup 2021 to be held in December this year.

For Indonesian team, I hope they maximize the basketball fields inside GBK sport complex to train the player for 3 points shooting. GBK sport complex has 3 outdoor and 3 indoor basketball field, if the shooting practice is only done in GBK Arena, it will be too crowded for about 17 players that are currently prepared for the event.

Yes. India is the only South Asian team that pass Qualification to go to Play Off in Jakarta before India can play in Final Round with bahemot team like Australia and New Zealand. Other South Asian team, Sri Lanka, cannot pass. 2 South Asian countries that play in Asia FIBA Qualification is India and Sri Lanka.

Marques Bolden, 23 years old, which has played in NBA for Cleveland Cavaliers, changing his citizenship from US citizen into Indonesia citizen and Today has gotten his ID card and Indonesian pasport.

The event is postponed until July 2022 so we can possibly use Derrick Michael ( half Indonesian half African ) as he is now in Australia for NBA Academy. He will be there for 1 year since March 2021.

What Indonesia needs now is to have at least three teams to have friendly match in August for around 5 teams that will still need to go to Jakarta to play Play off @UDAYCAMPUS

FIBA Asia Cup:
The FIBA Asia Cup 2021 will be played as planned in Jakarta, Indonesia, but is rescheduled to July 2022, right after the window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Asia Qualifiers.

A total of 13 teams have already qualified for the premiere continental event, the last three places will be determined via two Qualifying Tournaments for third-ranked teams to be played in the second part of August 2021.

Just understand of why Derrick cannot play with this supposed FIBA Asia Cup which is later delayed into July 2022, it is because Australia lock their country, foreigners cannot go inside and Australian and others who are currently staying in Australia also cannot leave Australia.
