Female chess players protest wearing hijab at Iran world championship

Off-course there is no comparison, dressing up is a sign of oppression, but taking your clothes of is progress. Thank you for clarifying it for me.

No,there's a difference between someone who willingly chooses to go to a country and LIVE there as a citizen and someone who wouldn't want to visit Iran in her life time but has to go because she's a professional chess player and the world championshis is organised in there and find itself forced to wear an alien clothing to her.

Your Country Your Rules. The people who dont like your rules are not coming to the championship

The samedld be in reverse. If you dont like Burqa bans in western countries you should boycott from going there
Agree 100% , it's their country , so they can adopt any rules they want . If people are not happy with that the they should either leave the country or stay away from it. Period.
Same applies to some muslims protesting Burqa ban in western countries, if they don't like it then the door is wide open to leave, nobody is forcing anybody to stay, on the contrary.lol. :)

Don't enforce it. And don't oppose it. Let women decide for themselves!!

Right now bunch of religious Muslim men or European atheist elite who have managed to strip their own women in the garb of equal rights now want to do the same with Muslim women, I don't even like burka but what is the problem with Hijab? Women should be given the choice, from where I see its either Muslim men or European men telling how women should dress like. Double standards from both sides IMO.

Not exactly true.Maybe the female chessplayers don't want to go to Iran but that country hosts an international event. Why should they be forced to some bizzare dress code to attend that event ? Ofcourse, the fault firstly lies with the Chess Federation who chose to have this event in these kind of regressive country.

Exactly, if Iran doesn't meet the standards set by the international chess federation, then the should have banned them from hosting such events. Period. Since they didn't, then players who don't like the rules there are free to stay away from the country if they don't want to. Period. :)

No,I was right.Qatar gave assurances beforehand that fans will be accomodated.I still think there will be incidents tht can be avoided by giving the WC to a normal country.

Those women chose to live in France, the chess players are only there for World Championships.
Is France law state that the woman must be nude in public ?

. . .
In different culture it mean different things
Let make it a little simpler for you , those French law state women must wear bikini in public?

No.It just states that they must not wear the burkini,a piece of clothing symbolising an ideology. They can wear normal swimming suites, skirts, jeans or even fur coates to the beach if they want.

For your knowledge nude means completely naked.I haven't seen France forcing someone to be completely naked in public.

Well it seems your English is even worse than me if you look at the WordNet you find meaning such as "
completely unclothed (Freq. 2)
- bare bodies
- naked from the waist up"

In roget treasures it translated as "
Without the usual covering:
bald, bare, naked.
See PUT ON.
2. Not wearing any clothes:"

Were in French law it came you must not wear burkini?and were it state you must not wear a piece of clothes that symbolize an ideology

Their country their rules. Don't go if you don't like it. Same applies to the reverse and burka bans etc.
it is an international event
it is not like chess players are running around in bikinis

.
Do you even know what nude means ? Research it and come back.

To some it means having this exposed :o::o:

Though having to play in a Hijab if you are not used to it may be tough.
It would appear that the FIDE rules support Iran.

Honestly this nonsense about clothes was hilarious, Iran version of hijab specially in big cities like tehran in many other muslim countries is not considered hijab at all .
When last sunmer my aunt after 10 years for a visit came back to Iran from USA ,the first thing she said was that the clothes she wear in USA for work cover more body than the clothes they were in Tehran.

I don't knew what in west they advertise about Iran I live innorth west of Tehran and the most covered women I see here are foreign tourists .
