Nope, most people, including Muslims, felt quite shocked at what had happened. It was only when the US clarified that they have officially waged a war against Islamic nations that did most (muslims) stop giving a damn about 9/11. 9/11 pales in comparison to what our "saviour/liberator/king-of-peace" USA did to Afghans and Iraqis. Simple.

Edit: Also, fyi, most muslims don't want to start a nuclear war and thus wouldn't be happy at all if the US "capitol" (whatever that is) got nuked.

Let's not troll now, we all know the people most affected where Islamic nations, or not? Afghanistan aside, explain the reason to invade Iraq? What about heavy maligning of Muslims by the US media? Getting involved with Libya which is half dead by now, and Targeting Pakistan's villages and tribal agencies on the western front in the name of "peace"? Threatening to wage a war with Iran?
Maybe "official" is little not so official, but you get the point.

Also, the US government represents the will of the US peoples, while OBL never represented the will/ideals of the Muslim world
