As I explained innumerable times to talon, ''real meaning'' doesn't really matter, what matters is what fatwas are in the real world, and what they do. Word origins and etymology is not important. If 'fatwa' means 'opinion', we are all prepared to agree that it means opinion. But everybody here is more concerned with what fatwas are in practice. It is not for point scoring, for us either.

I don't care what you have said to every tom dick and harry. The point is ultimately real meanings matter because those people who are following these so called "fatwas" have no idea about the basics of what fatwa is and what it intends to stand for. Not only that but they are mere sheep led by their shepherds so the more the real meaning remains "obscured" and the more the confusion exists among the people, the more you would see such reactions.
