Uttar Pradesh played a very important role in Partition

Bengalis played the most iimportant role from founding the muslim league to commiting to cause.

The movement was first about rights and autonomy for Muslim which later on turned towards demand of separate country
Jinnah was successful in getting the separate electorate for Muslims

Muslims in uttar pardesh were minority and Muslim league had to show the power of vote which they did in bengal sindh and Punjab with majority but muslim league also won seats in UP Bihar Madras due to separate electorate but these seats were just tiny fractions.
