Farmers and citizens looted a trailer of urea fertilizer while torturing the driver against which the drivers protested.

After negotiations between urea dealers and farmers of Tandobago near Badin district failed, citizens and farmers on Jhudo Road tortured a trawler driver carrying urea fertilizer and looted more than 600 sacks of fertilizer.

The driver of the trawler reached the police station to lodge a complaint of violence and looting, but the police did not register a case. "People tortured me and looted urea fertilizer," the driver told reporters.
On the other hand, when contacted, fertilizer dealer G Prakash told Express News that we had called Mukhtarkar and asked him to come and sell urea fertilizer at official price but Mukhtarkar did not come, after which people attacked the driver and looted urea fertilizer.

So mass robbery is ok now
Fertilizers are a scarce and valuable commodity at the moment in Pakistan and farmers are desperate. Saying that no one should steal, but this is Sindh and everyone follows the footsteps of their leaders.

My leader Nawaz used to personally distribute Urea fertilizer to kisaans in the dead of the night. He used to leave them at the farmers doorsteps. They used to have this written on them "Koi puche to Nawaz aya tha"

well leaders are like ppl and ppl are like leaders. fertlizer guy should have not priced hike the product he should have listened. isnt this pakistan the land filled with donkeys, cows, buffalos, horses, zardaris, nawaz there should be abundance of manure.

Fertilizer is scarce now a days... luckily i have always bought my season`s need in advance.... but people are feeling the heat... Govt should really do something about it.

Whole responsibility of the load was solely on the driver?

That's some trust based business practice.

Where did the shipment arrive from? Badin has loads of police.

So mass robbery is ok now and this is done by the poorest of soevity. No wonder Pakistan has major issues of corruption.
Last few weeks many protests in interior Sindh for hoarding and unavailability of urea. Dealers have urea but not selling on top enjoying govt subsidiaries. This reaction was expected.

HYDERABAD: As wheat crop sowing comes to a close in Sindh, farmers complain that higher prices of urea — and at times its unavailability — are likely to affect crop productivity across the province.
Wheat growers stress that remedial measures must be taken immediately, especially against hoarders.

Thanks for the info didn't know that.

Not anyone else faults, our own 'businessmen' are involved. But who cares, just highlight the scarcity and blame the government. Those smuggling/black marketing/hoarding are innocent people.

Chaman: Customs foil smuggling bid of fertilizers to Afghanistan
Sardar Muhammad Khondai :

Pakistan Customs foiled a major smuggling bid of fertilizers to Afghanistan at Pak-Afghan border Chaman on Saturday morning. The Customs has taken this action after Prime Minister Imran Khan’s directives to stop fertilizers smuggling from Pakistan.
Customs had received credible information to the effect that a huge quantity of urea fertilizers would be smuggled to Afghanistan from Customs Station Chaman under the garb of fresh vegetables. The Assistant Collector, Custom House Chaman formed a team to ensure effective execution of the Internation.
10-wheelers Hino Truck carrying fertilizers was intercepted
Eventually, a 10-wheelers Hino Truck was intercepted and its thorough examination led to the recovery of urea fertilizers tactfully concealed under the cover load of fresh vegetables ( potatoes). A total of 480 bags of fertilizer urea, each weighing 50 kg were concealed under the cover load of 80 gunny bags of potatoes. The total value of the seizure was Rs. 7.2 million.

F.I.R against the exporters and clearing Agent has been lodged and one person has been arrested. Further investigation has been launched to unearth all involved in the case. All the export consignments are being monitored closely at the operational border Customs Stations with Afghanistan. Strict action will be taken against the fertilizer smugglers according to the law if found involved.

Theft is halal in Pakistan at all levels.
