Make a correction, Pakistan will not miss her at all, just a handful of people. Surprised how you can speak on behalf of all pakistanis how they are taking her death.
And as of her "giant intellectualness" then that pretty much reflected in the crude language she used on tv shows.
And as of "giant integrity" Lmao then what better integrity to be given to a woman who took out 50 million worth loans from pak banks and got them written off , who was protested against by her very own employees - the champion of human rights asma jahangirs own mills employees for not paying them salaries, and who was fighting a case to protect a person who comitted high treason against state, the traitor Hussian Haqqani.
So please she might be your ideal but not for rest of the pakistanis.
And its ironic for last two yeard i am watching you cry on this forum calling imran khan as taliban khan just cause he asked for a dialogue with ttp before zarb e azb ops. But a woman who always opposed formation of military courts after aps massacre to give speedy trials to ttp terrorists and other people involved in other forms of terrorism ,who thru her campaigns managed to halt executions of ttp terrorists is a woman of high morals and integrity to you.
Honourable Ocean,
Asama Jahangir opposing military courts has nothing to do with Imran Khan. I admire Imran as a cricketer and for the Shaukat Khan hospital & the Namal University. It is his love of Taliban that I abhor.
Imran Khan was nicknamed Taliban Khan by the Pakistan media, I only heard a panellist calling him Taliban Khan in one of the TV discussions. The nickname stuck because the Taliban named Imran Khan along with the chief cleric of Islamabad's Red Mosque, Mulla Abdul Aziz, , Maulana Sami-up-Haq, Mufti Kifayatullah and Prof Ibrahim Khan to represent TTP in the negotiation with Pakistan government.

There has to be a reason as why TTP responsible for killing almost 50,000 Pakistanis over the years consider Imran Khan as their spokesman. One can judge it from the company he would have been keeping had the TTP proposal gone through. This is what Cyril Almeida wrote in his column in the Dawn.
“Without Khan, the right-wing wouldn’t disappear. Without Khan, there would still be the Taliban. Without Khan, there’d still be plenty of merchants of hate, bigotry and xenophobia. Without Khan, there’d still be a bunch of apologists. But without Khan, none of that wouldn’t be as mainstream as it is with Taliban Khan running around.”

I never said that Asma Jehangir was my ideal; instead I said that I disagreed with some of her views. Nevertheless I consider Asma Jehangir as “Conscience” of Pakistan and a larger than life personality. You are welcome to hate Asma as much as you like, but surely thousands of lawyers, judges, politicians & ordinary people of Lahore who took the trouble of attending her funeral and the media who showed the event for hours during the prime time think otherwise.
It appears that while in most countries it is only the ‘villains’ that are reviled, in my motherland ‘Heroes & Heroins’ are reviled even more! So much so that the Noble Laureate Malala Yusuzai was accused of not being Swati at all but a 'Romanian transplant'.
In my opinion the written off loans as published in the Siyasat

Dawn story of October 20, 2010 “ SBP submits lists of written off loan beneficiaries” also does not include Hala Spinning Mills or Asma Jehangir.
