Falcon Air Meet 2010

For those in any doubt about the capabilities of the Mirages, need to observe this image of a PAF Mirage in action, and if not sure, than refer to poster. :D

what ordnance are they dropping - durandels!? or?

.
I see weapons being loaded onto the F-16s and F/A-18s using loading vehicles operated by 1 or 2 people max, whereas around the 4:30 mark, Pakistanis are loading the Mirages by hand with 4 or 5 personnel carrying one weapon.

Do we not have loaders or is the Mirage's belly too low for vehicle-loading? Also, doesn't this put us at an extreme disadvantage when it comes to loading within short time-constraints?
Check the Pakistani brother in Salwaar Kameez dancing with female American soldier at 14:05
Just hope his wife doesn't see this, or else a 500 pound laser-guidedthappar will fall on him and not even the King of Jordan could rescue him.

Probably not. The Durandal is slowed and positioned to be vertical over the ground via a parachute, which offers greater surface drag and quicker deceleration than fins.

Probably. Sometimes even though the mechanical loader can go that low, the 'turntable' on which the missile rests upon gets in the way of securing the bolts.

Yes. Worse if there is an external fuel tank on the inboard hardpoint.

The image is photoshopped. You can clearly see the line separating the terrain and sky. And don't tell me it isn't.

Welcome back Mr.Indestructible....... I'm just curious, does your job involve distinguishing between real and fake photos?

.
Indeed it is my job if everybody is turning a blind eye to all these photoshops. :hitwall:

A Pakistan Air Force Mirage III drops a 500 pound bomb on a target during the Falcon Air Meet 2010 at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Azraq, Jordan, Nov. 1. The purpose of The Falcon Air Meet is to improve international military relations and joint air operations.

For GOD sake someone ask them to bring some new plane to international exercises i m sick of seeing these old mirages

Hi,

For most of the jobs that needed to be done---you don't really need the top end aircraft. All air forces have their work horses---and the mirages and the f 7's are our work horses---they are old but not out and done yet.

They can fit in many other roles for as long as they are in service and with the upgrades that they have, they still have a bite.

All millitary excercizes don't need your top end aircraft all the time.

. .
Not sure why people cannot believe that Snake eye retarded bombs can be delivered by the Mirages? Windjammer is right.

See 0.44 in the above video to see the blades deploying after release from the Mirage. This capability has been with the Mirages for a long time.
