I agree with you about Imran Khan as I have read that he wants to make Pakistan a welfare state. But for support towards that goal, he needs the very people you describe as Liberals. And people like Arooj ( and Shehla Rashid in India ) are not Liberal. They are Leftist. There is a difference. I think a Liberal is one who believes in "Live and let live". A Leftist on the other hand will want to remove all wrong / Regressive elements from society.

Three topics in as many days about a student protest with less than 100 people. I get the POV of the burgers, the population of this country is so politically immature and so unsure of itself it's spooked by kids with too much time on their hands and are painting them to be this that and the other.

Look around you - what did Fazlu achieve? What has PTM achieved? IF a student protest is some sort of CIA operation to undermine the foundations of the Pakistani state then;

1. It'll fail just like the others.
2. If such a p1ss poor attempt succeeds, then such a weak state has no business surviving.

You people all need to let go of the conspiracy theories. F**k the establishment, deep state, hidden hand and whatever else excuse is used to justify the failings of nearly every part of this country. You and I are the state, we just need to accept that and act upon that.

If Pakistaniyat is threatened, then take responsibility for instilling it into yourself and people you love. If tomatoes are expensive, grow your own. If the garbage is not being collected put some money together with 100 other people and start up a small company to collect garbage and recycle it for a charge. Stand on your own feet - nothing can stop you unless Allah wills it so.

When Jamal Abdul Nasser became President of Egypt, he and his comrades modified the Constitution to reflect a Progressive change in the country. He was a Socialist. And Islam is an older Socialist system. So, if these young Socialist revolutionaries in Pakistan go to the extent of changing the Constitution a bit, there should be no opposition from the people of Pakistan.

Gamal Abdel Naser was a follower of Mustafa Kamil Pasha who viewed Islam as a tool to promote Arab nationalism a heretic to the pan islamist view of his boss Sultan Abdul Hamid Khan based not on any ethnic lines.Pakistanis tend to the latter.

It is not about burger or poor class. It is about who is behind all this. A failed marxist narrative is being molded into pro-independence narrative by ethnic subversive cults who earlier failed in the form of Pashtunistan, Jiaye Sind/Sindu Desh, Baloch insurgencies. Now these elements are targeting Punjab knowing well Punjab is power center. In my personal opinion they want to pitch Punjab against Army. This entire project is reviving Student Unions and thus recruit these inqilabi ethnic firebrand students for subversive activities playing ethnic card

In next few days she will register NGO in the name of human rights and get some Prado , expensive seminars and lots of foreign funding, enjoy there life. It's new formula of getting rich.

She reminds me of Shehla Rashid, a former student union leader of the JNU university in Delhi. Shehla is as well-spoken as Arooj.

Arooj speaks of Participatory Democracy / Direct Democracy. She should study Libya's Third Universal Theory aka Jamahiriya. There is also a version in India called Swaraj which is being propagated by the AAP ( Aam Aadmi Party ) and the Swaraj Abhiyan party.

She is fighting against oppression from inside the oppression.

But Modern Socialism was adopted by Muslims in India ( in 1920 the Communist Party of India was formed ), Somalia, Egypt, Algeria, Afghanistan, Libya, Indonesia, Pakistan etc. If it can be done decades ago, why can't it be done in 2019 ??

Actually, Nasser used Islam and Arab Nationalism as tools to promote Socialism.

Sensible people in Pakistan, including Imran Khan, can work with Progressives such as Arooj, to make Pakistan a welfare state. And also bring peace to our region.
