Does the French soldiers get enough alertness and real life war situations other than training/? I mean, India and Pakistan have special forces who are constantly engaged with each other. And US and British are engaged in all over the world.

But France? They have got involved after a long time in Mali and Somalia just now.

They may not have alot of battle experience, but training is meant to do just that. Replicate sticky situations and prepare you.

This isn't any kind of excuse for a failure...Spec op teams are meant for this, quick ops without any warning, they train, train and train again exactly for this little moment that comes once in a year in France's case.

French spec. op is among the best buddy. They have done many successful missions which got them so much name.

But like all spec. groups, failure do occur.

Navy Seals failed in Iran because their helis malfunctioned. No matter what is the reason, a failure is a failure in these cases. No excuses. Period.

This is not good development as far as India is concerned. France is a very good partner strategically In Africa for India, One of the reason for Choosing Rafale is to get access to Former french dominated countries in Africa.

French do have some strategic bases near Horn of Afrcia.

These days Alqaeda fighters (backed by their handlers ) are threatening Mali and other french ruled countries.

Seems Africa has become a fighting ground for US, China and India to gain influence.
