Infact PG does wins against vipers ans thunders in day to day DACT at PAF but yet again the results of these fights arent 100% accurate.

Can someone list what the role of the F7 PGs is in daily life or in war time


Are the patrol aircraft
Can they carry bombs to target ground targets
Are they additional fighters with WVR missiles to support our main fighters etc

All said it’s days in paf are numbered the next batch of 50 block 3 jf plus B model will pretty much replace the type By 2025 minus any airframes with some life left which can continue as LIFt perhaps

being replace before mirages tell you couple of things

1 it’s role is being replaced By jf
2 Not much life left to continue with total airframe life of 2800 hours vs mirages structure life of 8000 hours per last Afm article

They are still doing their job well in the Western border. Yes their airframes are aging and will be retired as and when new Thunders are inducted.

I am glad finally someone said something. Most of our friends here don't even know what the capabilites of the PG's are. They just see the fancy shiny EuroFighters and they want that. PG' are by far one of the most deadliest combat aircraft in WVR fight. There have been not one but multiple occasions where the Vipers got dominated by the PG's in DACT exercises. These aircrafts are still very relevant for the next 10 years, as the majority of the battles against the IAF will still be fought in WVR in a Total War.
