F-35 Performing Flanker like maneuvers.

.
Nothing impressive? If that doesn't amazes you then there is nothing in the real world that would, you better watch star trek.
No, this amazes me:
See what it did? It turned your F-35 into a designated sh*tting street. If you want to use the excuse that the F-35 has a single engine, don't worry. This cr*ps on it too:
I didn't see your "amazing" F-35 do a simple cobra. The only thing amazing about it is that Lockheed-Martin got away with what it charged for it. Daylight robbery.
Nevertheless, check the video which I have shared. F-35 have superior maneuverability than Russian SU-35S. This is FAR from easy to accomplish with extremely sensitive VLO characteristics in the equation.
That video proves nothing. There are videos like it "proving" that the J-20's current engines (let alone the WS-15) have a thrust of more than 210kN. Your video is about the same level.

OP's video was great though - that smoke fart was epic. I'll never look at the F-135 the same way again.

Point is that F-35 can maneuver very well and claims to the contrary are ill-founded.

More importantly, F-35 can perform extreme maneuvers with VLO characteristics in the equation - clearly a generational leap in aerodynamics from 4th generation designs.

Disagree with you - the video in question clearly show which aircraft can maneuver better when performing similar stunts.

I'll tell you what, I bookmarked OP's video with the timestamp so if anyone ever talks sh*t about Chinese or Russian engines, I can show them the coal-powered F-135. Truly amazing, the world's first jet engine that runs on coal. You'd think with a smoke trail like that they could see where the Japanese F-35 crashed from space. Should have been easy to find it - if 'Murica and its pet were competent, that is.
Now, stop being a hater and enjoy the astonishing grace of the Su-35 and J-10B.

Here is the difference with Flanker. The Flanker is designed to gain potential energy advantage at 50K-30K ft and then trade it off with the 'super yaw'. For the F-35 this is merely an airshow maneuver.

Few years ago I think 2015 I went to the air show at Jones beach NY and F 35 was there for like a 2 min flying . It just did a few crosses and a high G turn and then went away. I still remember I told my friends that's one hell of a turn , better than F18 of the Navy.i told them you ll see what this will turn into and today you can see. F 35 is not only about aggressive moves there is a lot more to it. Beside that I have to say this thing is so loud the engine is massive.

You are biased if you think F-35 is not comparable to the flanker in terms of agility even. Nothing can beat the F-35 right now.

What I see is F-35 critics -- in and out of this forum -- are getting nervous over the F-35.

There is nothing to prevent you from becoming a troll. Being a troll is purely an emotion based act. You can be educated and above average intelligent and still be a troll -- Pierre Sprey and the A5Stralians over at ausairpower.net. In this forum, the trolls are technically ignorant and have no relevant experience. They have never even served in the militaries of their respective countries, let alone even turned a wrench on an aircraft, but here they bloviate and predict without care and shame, and circle jerk each other at any negative news about the F-35.

Because they have literally no aviation experience outside of being a passenger in a straight and level airline flight, they cannot notice the many almost invisible small behaviors that produces large maneuvers, so they ended up making shallow comparisons to other aircrafts, usually of Russian origins, and exaggerate all differences to absurd proportions in favor of the competitors. They cannot tell the difference between a 'normal' loop vs an AUGMENTED one. A troll may notice the smaller loop, but will not be able to explain HOW based upon observation. Clue -- the F-22 and F-35 can and DO make smaller diameter maneuvers without the pilot approaching maximum human g-tolerance. No one understand this enormous implication better than F-16 pilots. And the F-35 do not need thrust vectoring to do those maneuvers.

The Russians are законченный in military aviation. Accept it and move on.

The Chinese are barely better no matter how many times the J-20 are in high def photos ON THE GROUND.

The 'cobra' maneuver? Worthless outside airshows. If the 'cobra' maneuver is %100 maximum and is worthless, then practical utility in ACM is %50 of that level, and that is all the F-35 needs to achieve to make other pilots apprehensive about meeting the F-35 in ACM, even in exercises.

The F-35 does not carry enough missiles? That is an idiotic criticism in light of history.

Back in the Vietnam War, North Vietnamese MIG-21s do not need to shoot down every F-105 in formation. All it take is one F-105 to call out under attack and the rest will jettison their bombs, and the North Vietnamese pilots achieved their true mission. So for the F-35 with its integrated sensors, low radar observability, and outstanding maneuverability, each F-35 carries enough ordnance to clear the sky of adversaries, even if just for a day or two, and quite often, one or two days were just enough to turn a war in one's favor.

The contest or race or whatever word the trolls want to use -- is over. The US won and won by 10 laps. Accept it and move on as best you can. :enjoy:

So what results will small movements produce in the rarified air at 50K ft?

Airshow maneuvers are not performed at 50k ft. That does not mean never. There is a different. Never mean exactly that -- never. But 'do not' mean pilots will avoid making those maneuvers at that altitude if they have options otherwise. Speed, not altitude, is the primary factor in both chasing and evading. Even the SR-71 relies more on speed than altitude to survive.

J20 doing thrust vectoring with very short vertical turn

Showing videos of the J-20 is not going to improve China's image as nothing more than a second tier aviation power. At least now China can compare herself against Russia and feel good about it.

Where is Pierre Sprey now?
