China Seizes on F-35 Remarks - China Real Time Report - WSJ

An article appearing on Monday on the websites of the state-run People’s Daily as well as its popular tabloid the Global Times describes comments made by one U.S. analyst on future weapons purchases as the all-but-guaranteed stance of the Obama administration. The comments, which first appeared last week on the website of a niche defense publication, suggested the U.S. might rethink its purchase of the long-anticipated F-35 fighter jet due in part to rapid advancements in
China’s military.

Row over Canada F-35 fighter jet order
BBC News - Row over Canada F-35 fighter jet order

J-10 series rules ??????

.
well somehow it is loosing the charm with the increasin price tag and its late in getting out of lockhead factories made other airforces to look for alternatives but still F 35 many airforces commited to buy it

.
Well I don't really see what the J-10 has to do with it.

.
F-35 is one hell of machine , imagine vertical landing on top of a difficult terrain and hiding the F-35 from incoming 200 planes and then launching a counter strike on their base ...with 1 plane tactical nuke ......

Bang bang the indian airport is gone

air forces will not be operating that variant.....the one u are talking of about...... even kids know this !!!!!!!!

and did u even think once ...... what kind of retaliation u will get .... how much innocent civilian lives will be lost on both sides........ i donn know on what basis they promote fanboys to senior members

and lastly pakistan will not be any of those F35........

launching a counter strike on their base ...with 1 plane tactical nuke ......

let me get this straight !!!.............

u r saying that....... u will retaliate to a simple air strike with a nuclear strike..... and then getaway without a scratch on ur country ......

for this uber cool idea i got three words for you........ TYPICAL PAKISTANI FANBOY !!!!!

why dont u get this simple point ....... a nuclear strike on India(capability of which u r so proud of !!!) will inevitably result in complete destruction of Pakistan !!!!!!!!!!!!

How can you be so sure Pakistan won't be able to get these in the future?
We are long time customer of Lockheed Martin, and Lockheed Martin has no plans to ditch any of their customers.

.
economic reasons my friend ...... 5 gen fighters don come cheap and also unit cost is only a fraction of lifecycle cost....

and if indian navy gets it (latest offer of US to india)..... the navy will pressurize US to not sell it to pakistan.....

India might be a much bigger customer than pakistan ......

F35 is a beautiful machinery - engineering marvel ...
Would be nice to have even 1-5 for tactical usage

Obviously not meant for air-air combate but I would certainly use it for tactical strikes for key targets in time of war -

The vertical launching capabilities just give it a tremendous edge .. it can land in forest hide, and then reappear and knock out key targets and then hide again in some cave .. and then reappear ... we are taking a plane meant for gorrila warfare of planes

who want F-35 to nuke India to hell fire a Ghauri or Shaheen.

Well just like the bow and arrow becam obsolete
Just like wooden ships became obsolete

With creation of lasers the missiles technologies we depend on will become obsolete in next 10-17 years or sooner

A well rounded general always like to have differnt options at his disposal always have a plan B , C , D

But you are right for next 10 years we can fire a Ghauri or Shaheen to get the job done

Having a stealth fighter just opens so many tactical strategies to knock out your enemy ... but if Stealth is defeated with new radars then obviously these fighters will be useless

This also because of the fact that the rapid development in Radar & Ecm technology will lead to stealth being detected and engaged with having any problem even in future and in current status by many Air - Defence manufacturers that not only their radar are capable of being detecting low RCS flying object but even Stealth and even the russians S-300/S-400 or S-500(i am sure about it) can detect and engage F-35 and F-22 raptors. That's why most of the F-35 Program partners are getting away from the project and are looking towards 4.5 Generation Aircraft as their future fleet aircraft. Like PAF invested in JF-17 they could wait for chinese J-XX program but they assested in the right manner and go for the JF-17 and i have heared that they also have invested 25% in J-10B program and will produce it at PAC of about 150-200 Planes other than 250 JF-17s and may be they are going to replace these F-16 headaches with PAK-CHINA UCAV program. So it would be a good fleet:
JF-17: 250-300
J-10B: 150-200
F-16 : 60 Block-15 MLU & 18 Block-52 although they might be replace soon.
and J-10B would be our front-line aircraft in future and we would
in future be capable enough to counter PAK-FA with upgraded
Radars, Air - Defences and AEW&C aircraft as well as
UAV/UCAVs

Do you think that the U.S. does not test it's stealth aircraft against all modern radar system types? And please provide a source that F-35 buyers are backing out becuase of this.
