so 9,11 and 5 are viper squadrons - 54 aircraft. total a/c available are 63 to date. so 9 a/c are either in reserve or part of a composite squadron.

Couple of points to ponder, initially in the late 80s, in anticipation for the follow on batch, No.14 Squadron was third unit to convert to the F-16s, however when these were subsequently embargoed the Squadron went back to their old steeds. PAF had some 33 Falcons remaining from the original 40, sufficient for the two units, I.E. No.9 and 11 Squadrons. Since No.5 has stood up with the latest aircraft, one wonders, where did the embargoed released machines went, which were sufficient in numbers to equip at least another unit.

actually 32+14+18 = 64 less 1 recent attrition.

Albeit, my understanding is that the middle figure should be 16 aircraft since Zesty-1 & 2 arrived long before the well documented numbers. In any case, 60+ Airframes are sufficient to equip 4 units, considering that at one point each Squadron had some 12 aircraft on strength.
