* F-15 Silent Eagle stealth fighter could be considered as alternative to F-35

Interesting piece of info, so this means that this can be regulated. Hmmm... may be if India coniders this we could bargain for the lowest RCS, what u say???
Bargain? May be. But the exchange will not be confined to only monetary means.

Thats sure no doubt , because when we are speaking of such advancement in tech (which definitely will be a force multiplier) no doubt only money cannot provide it, especially when being exported. Something behind the scenes will be worked out. I would live to see it in Indian colors. :bounce::bounce:

SE is no match to F-35:

1) It's engine fans are open (no S duct) = big frontal RCS.
2) It has non stealthy hull shape and fins = big side RCS.
3) Since conformal tanks are replaces with missile carriers it has little internal fuel: 6,000 kg vs. 8,400 kg for F-35.
4) F-35 can carry 2000 lb class weapons inside, including guided bombs and JSOW, SE only air to air missiles.
5) It lacks DAS and built in EO targeting pod.

I dnt think F15 is alternative to F35 ..
And if any country pay 100million for old platefrom so they can also pay 150million for new and more advansed fighter

True. But F-35 is not offered to everyone atm.

SE's front RCS is the only stealthy part about it and is the equivalent of F-35. All other aspects are less stealthy.

What about the new structural changes, internal weapons bay factor and all.. Is that stealthier features?

That would also improve overall stealth but they say their main focus is frontal radar cross section reduction.

Radar absorbent materials added to leading edges are designed to soften the F-15SE’s head-on radar signature. Canting both vertical stabilizers by 15° is intended to reduce radar returns to the side.

Finally, embedding missiles and bombs inside conformal fuel tanks also reduces radar signature in all directions, and allows the F-15SE to perform its warfighting mission even with “clean” wings.

Boeing claims the end-result is an aircraft that can match the frontal-aspect stealth profile of any fifth generation fighter in configurations cleared by the US government for export release.

“We know we can get to the US government release level for international customers,” says Brad Jones, Boeing’s manager for future F-15 programmes.

To be fair, Boeing acknowledges the F-15SE’s stealth improvements do not help against ground-based radar systems, which are critical for waging offensive strikes against opponents armed with surface to air missile systems. Lowering the F-15SE’s thermal signature - a critical stealthy feature for the Lockheed Martin F-22 - is also not part of Boeing plans.

S.Koreans and Saudis would fell for it apart from it no other country is interested.

F-15SE could have the shared fate of F-20 Tiger Shark except the avionics might end up as upgrades into RSAF/Korean/Singaporean F-15s.

Wait Wait and saw the video

its not Only air to air missiles !!
What about rcs for silent eagle in she load weapons it out side not Used the conformal fuel tank configuration like the video

Is Silent Eagle project failed in your view and what is the alternative for customers???:what:

How can be frontal RCS of SE equal to F-35, if it lacks S-duct?

Take it up with Boeing that is what they claim.

First, Boeing says the F-15SE can match the frontal-aspect stealth performance of the export version of the Lockheed Martin F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. The precise level stealth allowed to be exported to foreign countries is still to be determined by the US authorities who govern technology transfer rules. Will international F-35 customers be disappointed if they find out a fourth-generation fighter can match their fight-generation fighter's head-on performance?

Second, Boeing says they're not offering the F-15SE to the US Air Force, but could the single-largest F-15 customer in the world be tempted? Obviously, the USAF is committed to buying a fifth-generation-only fleet of F-22s and F-35s, but if costs, schedule delays or performance problems start mounting, could the service be driven to "settle" for improved F-15s?
