This Is A Fully Armed F-15SA, The Most Advanced Production Eagle Ever

1330203475631175084.jpg

The F-15SA is the most advanced production F-15 Eagle ever built. Saudi Arabia ordered 84 new build F-15SAs and close to 70 kits to upgrade their existing F-15S fleet to the SA configuration. Just one part of this upgrade is the activation of Eagle’s outboard wing stores stations, which will expand the jet’s already heavy combat punch.

Update: Boeing reached out to tell us they’re marketing the F-15SA configuration for export to other potential users as the “F-15 Advanced.”

The F-15SA is an incredibly capable machine, featuring some key changes from its progenitor, the F-15E Strike Eagle. These include a full fly-by-wire flight control system, APG-63V3 Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, digital electronic warfare and radar warning suite, missile launch detection system, updated flat-panel display cockpits with helmet mounted displays in both cockpits and an infrared search and track system, known as “Tiger Eyes,” built into the left intake targeting pod pylon. The F-15SA also features F-110- GE-129 engines, capable of putting out almost 30,000 pounds of thrust each.

When it comes to weapons, the F-15SA can carry almost anything in the inventory. In the incredible image above showing an “extreme multi-role loadout” it packs: 2x AIM-120AMRAAMs, 2x AIM-9X Sidewinders, 2x AGM-84 SLAM-ERs, 2x AGM-88 HARMs, 6x GBU-54/B Laser JDAMs, and 8x GBU-39/B Small Diameter Bombs.

Also, the F-15SA still packs the F-15E’s 20mm Vulcan cannon with 540 rounds available. Basically, with this jet you get a tactical fighter force “in a box.” The loadout shown above includes weapons for long-range stand-off deep-strike, suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD), counter-air, direct precision attack and standoff precision attack all on the jet at the same time. Even after all that, the F-15SA’s center-line station remains unused, which can accommodate up to a 2,000lb JDAM, an external fuel tank or even a synthetic aperture radar surveillance pod.

The image above shows the F-15SA once again, albeit this time it is in an air-to-air configuration, including no less than eight AIM-120 AMRAAMs and eight AIM-9X Sidewinders. This amounts to double the missile carrying capability of the F-15C or F-15E. Also note the Infrared Search and Track system mounted above the jet’s radome. This, combined with its state of the art radar’s low probability of intercept modes, advanced radar warning receiver and Link 16 data-link, allows the F-15SA to hunt for enemy aircraft in electromagnetic silence while still maintain high-situational awareness.

Boeing’s Silent Eagle features internal weapons bays in its conformal fuel tanks and low-observable improvements such as canted tails, radar absorbent coatings and radar blockers on its engine fan faces. The aircraft can be converted to a large load carrying non-stealthy configuration much like the F-15SA in a matter of hours.

Many of the improvements made in the penultimate F-15SA were also rolled into the even more advanced and stealthier F-15 Silent Eagle, an aircraft that has not found a customer in the fighter marketplace yet, especially since South Korea chose to procure the F-35 on its last fighter buy and other F-15 operators, like Japan, Israel, also did the same. Even if the Eagle line ends with the F-15SA, it is amazing how far the aircraft has come since its original use as an attack aircraft some 30 years ago.

Congratz, and btw, Elbit systems is making the HMD

So is the war on ISIS, in today's urban warfare, where enemy isn't visible at best, or hiding behind civilian targets, it's almost impossible to strike it without multible casualties

Not for the SA , maybe for QA HMD

Most probably it will be
Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS)

The Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS) is a product of RCEVS, a joint venture between Elbit Systems and Rockwell Collins.

DJHMCS_Day_Nigh_t800y.jpg

JHMCS - Day and Night Capabilities

The JHMCS provides the pilot with “first look, first shoot” high off-boresight weapons engagement capabilities. The system, also available in a night configuration, enables the pilot to accurately cue onboard weapons and sensors against enemy aircraft and ground targets without the need to aggressively turn the aircraft or place the target in the Head-Up Display (HUD) for designation.

Critical information and symbology such as targeting cues and aircraft performance parameters are graphically displayed directly on the pilot’s visor. Through RCEVS, most frontline U.S. fighters (F-16, F/A-18 and F-15) are being equipped with the JHMCS, which are currently operationally proven in over 20 air forces worldwide.

Sold to several gulf armies already

Elbit USA was cited in the list for QA providers of the JHMCS but not for SA..

The system reminds one of the cruise control on some cars, it is nice and cosy on the highway but quite dangerous in the city where there is a lot of traffic.. also one has to remember to turn it off after the highway trip, in other words it might also complicate the pilot's duties somehow..

USA and Britisher are giving Muslims weapons to kill each other. These will be used to kill Muslims in Yemen and knowing this we being the followers of Great Holy Prophet (PBUH) ignore the fact that who is our true enemy and fight with each others. No doubt we have lost our path. USA is providing weapons to terrorist to kill Muslims. These are the most darkest time on Muslims. I pray to Allah that all the Muslims in the world will unite on one ground and fight the enemies of Islam instead of each other.

they don't have the right equipment nor tactics.

I'd take 50 MQ-9 reapers over 5 F-15SA
I'd take 4 AC-130 over 12 F-15SA
I'd take 32 A-10C over 8 F-15SA
I'd take 126 Textron Airland Scorpions over 24 F-15SA

I'd out fit all my M1 Abrams with the Israeli Trophy APS and all other armored vehicles with Iron Fist. I'd always have some of the listed aircraft I mentioned above in the air ready to strike where needed when the Houthis ambush.

Muslims have been killing Muslims ever since Muhammad died

I am not found of KSA purchases infact any decision of ksa but these procuremenrs are not for houthis but for direct confrontation with iran ... Iran is trying to procure su30 n 35 and it will be difficult to maintain air supiriority if iran succeed ...

For houthis ksa is exploring chinese armed drones ...

Still in terms morale training discipline and tactics ksa is nowhere to dominate a real battle field ...

Secondly you need a corection after Muhammad SAW we have witnessed atleast 2 decades of prosperity and humongous expansion ... Fighting starts from last year of third caliph and during tenure of 4th caliph ... After 4th caliph it was kingship and like any other kingship it was fighting between powerfulls for power and not civil war except for the rule of yazid which was tyrant for muslims as a whole ...

Besides these incidents there has not been any civil war specially between sunni and shia untill19th century

GCC air superiority is only matched by Israel (due to US/Western support) in the region. Any regional country foolish enough to attack GCC directly will regret it.

As for some of the nonsense in this thread, there is a reason why those individuals are armchair generals and not actual decision makers. It shows.
Yes brother about air suppririty ... but have you studied vitenam war ? afghan war ? ...

As ksa has better punch in terms of advance equipments iran will not fight in open ... iran will invest in air defence platforms for area denial which is comparativly easy and less expensive while using gruilla warfare like it is doing in yemen ...

Ksa needs to review its strategies ...

KSA has air superiority with it's Eurofighters. Su-30/35 is no match against the Typhoon+Meteor combo

the issue is cost effectiveness. you don't need a 100+ million dollar jet dropping $50,000 dollar bombs and missiles to kill guys with AK's,RPG 7, and ATGMs.

what you need is a cheap system like the MQ-9 that can loiter for 24+ hours and carry small cheap guided bombs and missiles
