Health Minister: Iran, Pakistan Pursuing Implementation of Joint Agreements 2017, 9 October
TEHRAN (FNA)- Iran Health Minister Seyed Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi underlined that Tehran and Islamabad are resolved to implement the agreements already signed between the two countries.
"The implementation of bilateral agreements between the two countries, specially those related to export of Iranian pharmaceutical products would be discussed with Pakistani authorities," Qazizadeh Hashemi told reporters on the sidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO) Eastern Mediterranean meeting underway in Islamabad.
The meeting of the WHO Eastern Mediterranean is being held in Pakistan’s Islamabad on October 9-12.
Qazizadeh Hashemi underlined the need for enhancing cooperation among the regional countries in the health sector, and said that he would also be discussing common challenges during meetings with his counterparts of the neighboring states.
"Iran is playing an active role in the World Health Organization and is taking positive steps for improvement of health facilities in the region," he added.
The minister said the meeting of World Health Organization Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean would discuss important decisions beneficial for the whole region.
Qazizadeh Hashemi also said that there is a dire need to pay attention to the problems of the people of Myanmar, Syria and Yemen.
During his two-day visit to Pakistan, Qazizadeh Hashemi will meet his Pakistani counterpart Saira Afzal Tarar.
The Iranian health minister will hold important meetings with health ministers of Qatar, Oman, Iraq and Morocco.
More than 250 public health representatives and experts will discuss important public health priorities for countries of the region in the meeting.
