So Taiwan has its own WWE

This democracy caused so much chaos in Taiwan, think about multiplying it over 100 times if it happend in the mainland China. representatives from different ethnic groups and provinces or cities will be at each other's throats.

Taiwan's economy has been stagnant for more than a decade.

As the phenomenon of brain drain is very serious, the prospects for Taiwan's future development are not optimistic.

With the rapid development of the mainland, it may not take many years for us to catch up with Taiwan's per capita gdp.

After watching this, China doesn't need to forcefully take Taiwan - it's collapsing on its own. Matter of time and pressure required.

Capitalism is highly compatible with the Chinese culture while democracy is not.
Capitalism and democracy are not the same thing, Chinese people are talented in doing trade and business, it's part of Chinese culture and that's why you can see Chinese are highly successful business people all over the world, especially in southeastern Asian countries where a small number of Chinese community very also dominate those countries economies.
Chinese was never a truly democratic country throughout her history, cause Chinese culture calls for centralized power, collectiveness and unity, that's why for most part of the Chinese history China was an united empire where people gave up their individualism and local rights to the central government for greater unity and stability, that's quite the opposite to fractious European states in their history where everyone fights for their own personal or regional interests and having a say on their immediate homelands.
Hong kong was never a democracy before 1997, it was ruled by UK arbitrarily and the governors were appointed by the British queen. Taiwan's best development time was in 1970's and 1980's where the region was under Nantionalist party strict dictatorship, Taiwan only became stagnant after it adopted multi party democracy. Singapore is never a truly democracy other than a family dynasty, but those regions with Chinese style benevolent dictatorship are highly successful economically.
So capitalism is compatible with the Chinese culture while democracy isn't, it can only cause chaos and stagnation as we can see in today' Taiwan.

Singapore is never a truly democracy other than a family dynasty

Singapore is a democracy, just an illiberal one. Even Lee Kuan Yew, critical of democracy for its inefficiencies and populism, admits that democracy is a 'superior form of government' in the long term.

What is ‘true democracy’ as you define? Presidential style like the US and Taiwan? Parliamentary system like Japan and Australia? Or direct democracy in the case of Switzerland? Rotating governments?

In Singapore, the Prime Minister and his party has to contest for elections and defend their policies in the parliament.

Fake news law:

Policy on population size:

And yes, the ruling party (PAP) has to respond to the people's concern.

Take housing for example, the PAP suffered a major electoral setback in 2011 and housing is one major issue. They have been addressing the issue since then, and housing affordability has improved over the years.

Increase in housing supply:

See the spike 2018? The government took immediate measures after that.

2nd July 2018: Private home prices jumped by 9.1 per cent year-on-year
4th July 2018: Central Bank warns of 'euphoria', government monitoring housing market closely
5th July 2018: Heavy cooling measures announced, effective from 6th July

October 2018: Increase in average minimum unit size for private property

Without 'true democracy', you think the government would take such swift actions to address the people's concern?
We would be living in expensive nano-flats like Hong Kong.

haha you kill/arrest/send to pogoms whoever have dissent opinions against CCP. Tell me any instance where the joke called your parliament have amended a bill, had a discussion, voted out a bill, had a discussion on social issues, criticize the President over any bad planning.

Democracies, they fight over different opinions. Sometimes things go out of control. But fact of the matter is, they are free to disagree. Gather support, ask the public for support and are answerable to the public. :DOtoh sometimes they forget that parliamentarians are public servants. All these are unlike in China. I have no issue over China having CCP, historically your populace have been and are ruled over and people obeyed whoever is in power.

I wouldn't say they are stagnant. Their GDP PPP per capita has been closing in on the US as a percentage over the last decade from 73% to 84%.

You can compare China's growth at the current stage of development with Taiwan here, using percentage of US GDP per capita as a proxy.

This guy and his fellow taiwanese lawmakers should repent asap for their sins, the only way they will be forgiven is to push forward peaceful reunification with the Motherland China.
