Your posts always reek of racism and regionalism. Sometimes sectarianism too.

Karachi and her issues are no less important than any other region and their issues. Nor are Karachi walas entitled to any privileges that other residents of the country aren't.

Law of the land has to be followed in any case. There is Nothing wrong in demolishing illegally constructed buildings.

This is sad news and may the departed soul rest in peace. Sindh government is to be blamed for it and not the courts

One death is too many but we really need to get our priorities in place as well.
Yesterday, some 20 people lost their lives due to illegal construction on a canal.....where is the thread or discussion on that.

One is a tragedy, which beckons the builder and the mafia; the other is a crime by the Chief Justice who should be charged with murder!

What people do not understand here is that nobody is defending the illegal construction, regardless of how small or big it was. All that I personally have advocated is that the residents should have been reimbursed before any proceeding was initiated, and that too at market rate. After that, they should have been provided sufficient time to be able to relocate their whole lives (atleast 6 months in my opinion to find an alternate location, for purchase and for shifting/moving). They deserve our sympathy above the illegalities of the constructor and those of Sindh Government Officers who were involved in the illegal construction. The builder has not paid a penny and neither has any Sindh Government officer been charged with a crime.

China witnessed many such tragedies when building infrastructure
People like to say China this and that but you know stuff like this was very common in China- just read up stories from that era

Or you can look at eminent domain laws in US (granted are much more humane than China but also results in costly, slow infrastructure building)

Compensation is decided by Government- so you know lower than market rate

Want the city to devalop or want to take care of people?

Social justice is as much application of law as is demolishing illegal constructions. None of it outweigh the element of spirit of social justice.

Accusing Sindh government does not help. It only gives the flavor of institutional injustice and oppression something to propagate far less vicious then alleged regionalism.

Social Justice itself is an essentially subjective concept. Providing social justice to an individual by doing injustice to other individuals and the territory they share is not "Justice" by definition. Law on the other hand is essentially objective and has to be objectively justifiable. Courts did what they were supposed to do

Social justice is constitutional obligation for the courts not a matter of theological debate.

It is a miscarriage of justice that victims were portrayed as offenders. Sindh government and her jurisdiction comes late in the proceedings. She should be charged with abetting a crime at most.

Justice, not Social Justice (much less what your understanding of the concept is), is constitutional obligation for the courts, inexpensive and expeditious justice, and that's exactly what the courts did. What are you on about?

Which part of this judicial process is inexpensive? The building stood for decades illegally is not very expeditious. The corruption behind the whole exercise went unnoticed if not encouraged.

No compensation will be given - the judiciary will shine their medal and the builder will take their money overseas. Pakistan Zindabad!
