Yes, we know Indian authorities committed bad actions in Kashmir but at the end of the day India is a democratic country. There are various quarters in the civil society who are there to raise hue and cry for Kashmiris, there are also concerns regarding optics. It also is a country that is home to various religions and some of those religions have peace, non-violence and humanity as their core values. India can and will go only so far in violence. Atrocities commintted by the communists are well know, but citing the atrocities committed by others to counter that is no more than whataboutism. The muslims of Xinjiang who are going through extreme persecution deserve better than mere whataboutism from fellow muslims. Not that we can do much for them as a powerless country but the absolute minimum we can do is not to shoot down their plight by saying "not our problem" or even going as far as not even acknowledging their plight.
