Bangladesh has started a search to replace existing MiG-29 jets in its inventory as part of the modernization period in its armed forces. In this context, it was stated that Bangladesh, which wanted to supply a multi-purpose fighter jet, received a Eurofighter Typhoon offer from Italy.

Stating that it is looking for a platform for the air force that works with two engines and has a minimum payload capacity of 5,000 kg, Bangladesh also stated that it also wanted a phase-array radar.

It was also noted that Italy offered an AW101 helicopter and C-27J Spartan transport aircraft to Bangladesh in addition to Eurofighter.

All these news about Bangladesh getting the EFT , but I'm over here waiting for the dam deal to be signed so we can actually get these machines.
No need for stinky Eurofighter. Bangladesh can buy 1000 Tejas with lemon and coconut and they will be able to do airstrikes on USA for shits and giggles.

No even better , supply Myanmar with 1,000 JF-17s just so they can wipe out their own people

Whether Eurofighter Typhoon get purchase or not, it will not be a replacement of existing Mig-29. Mig-29 will be upgraded. BAF's Mig-29 is 22 years old and can easily service another 20 years with upgradation and proper maintenance.

I wish BD would get another 8 migs and actually complete the mig squadron.

8 planes is better than nothing but a squadron with half its strength expected to carry out maritime strike is laughable and unfair on BAF pilots

looks like Bangladesh will have second best air Force in South Asia soon as,well as the second best GDP

ha ha

Another 8 migs from like who ? Ukraine

. . . .
You should't underestimate Indian Air Force to that extent, they are still the second best in S.A

This is actually true as I would rate PAF to win over IAF.

IAF numerical superiority would not be able to overwhelm the better organisation and tactics of PAF.

I just wish that BD and Pakistan can soon start co-operating in the economic and military fields. BAF can learn a lot from PAF.

Supplied fighters to MyAF just as they were commiting genocide on Rohingya ? That's nothing to be proud about.

I read somewhere that govt would respond to BAF's request in 2 months or something. If a deal is to be signed this year, i expect it on 16 december 2021 or it could be signed next year when the BAF airshow is supposed to happen. On the BAF website there was an agenda showing that on day 4 of air show , contracts would be signed. All this could be wrong , as negotiations will take time.

EDIT: they removed the agenda from the website

BAF should buy Chinese J-10s.
