EU wants Pakistan to condemn Russian role in Ukraine

Diplomatic role is more important than take sides.. in 80's with russia and afghan war europe mainly uk, france germany scandanavian countries were supporting afghan but was doing business at the same time.
we sud condemn every countries land occopied by foreigners like Pakistan land Kashmir is occupied by india ..

This is rubbish. Ukraine is not Muslim! Why should Pakistan condemn Russia. (Btw, I am just taking off on logic of AFSPA thread) :P

I do agree with your quote 'none of our business', however, Ukraine has done more for us than rest of the world combined .... just take my word for it. What do we do now, as they certainly do deserve our moral support as well

I know what you are talking about ;)

We can't antagonize Putin too.

what exactly have they don for us?? besides the engines??
i think we should remain quite... no need to support any one.. putin is in a tight situation and is looking for friends... pakistan is on the table for that.

Plenty

This is preposterous. Our position is simple. We hope for a peaceful resolution, but we have no interest embroiling ourselves in an affair that isn't even taking place on this continent! It's a bilateral issue Russia-Ukraine should try to solve with cool heads.

Not our fight not our business

And still the "primitive" technology.

transmissions too.....and yes, Pakistan has been one of Ukraine's main arms export partners. However that's one Cold War going on which we have no business to butt in to.

Since Russia is looking for new arms markets, and given strategic and policy shifts (like US Congress allowing U.S. Govt. to sell Apache helicopters to india) and given West attempt to isolate Russia - this is actually a good time for Pakistan to leverage that, and do so without making commotions or taking sides

if Pakistan were to pass any comment on the matter, it should ONLY be our wishes that the conflict is resolved for the sake of the civilians on both sides - most especially in Ukraine.

He comes from the very same era of (ex)KGB officers who contended with Pakistan' and CIA support for Afghan mujahideen. I'm sure deep down he would never really view Pakistan as a "genuine friend" (relationships take years to build). But i think he reads the picture and sees a benefit in working with Pakistan......he did the exact same with General Sisi of Egypt (following the dismissal of brotherhood government) - when the Americans made noise and were antagonizing Egypt and meddling by commenting on its internal security and political affairs. And of course the usual tactics when "allies" act out of line...witholding F-16s and weaponry that were paid for and were supposed to be handed over.(the C/D Block 52s for Egyptian Air Force)

What I do like about him is that there's not so much lying in him. He's a pretty no-bullshit kind of leader, quite a badass whose cold stare and blunt words make him interesting to follow. He's definitely very nationalistic and keeps his country interests at heart. I respect that a lot. He's more of a leader than that confused, flip-flopping Obama ever could dream of being

I mean, crap....imagine if we could have someone to lead Pakistan half as man as Putin is

(ive gone off topic)

You have summed it up very nicely. The last time we became embroiled in a Cold War Pakistan was accused of terrorism and what not. They asked us to do more and we sacrifice with our blood. Yet, they ridiculed our sacrifices. It would be wise not to take any sides any more. Let them fight their own wars. Pakistan needs to remain neutral.

We never been strategic partner of russia or EU. So none of our bussiness, we should give simple answer, conflict should resolve in peacefull manner, as per people of Ukrain wishes.

EU buy from us after putting so many demands, pakistan should look for other markets as well, EU is bound to fall and east and far east is bound to rise,, Pakistan should lay their interest with the future, and its definately not EU.

Pakistan has very good relations with Ukraine for the last 40 yrs. Russia is for the first time to establish relations with Pakistan. Pakistan is going to remain Neutral on this and not take any sides. This is the norm and many countries have done this Switzerland is the prime example for EU to consider.

.
Of course Pakistan should condemn it; to hell with what the EU thinks....we should condemn is purely on the fact that the Ukrainians were there for us in our time of need !

We must make it plain and simple that we support the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Just don't overdo it !
