Not so. Indian supreme court does not handle contempt lightly. The last time, the Italians feared that their ambassador might end up in jail. In any case, the gentleman will have stay in India till the case gets decided, there is no way he will be allowed to leave.
Then Indian Supreme Court need to learn when something is beyond its jurisdiction and authority. If India put Italian embassador in jail, India will be regarded as a Pariah state by the west. And you don't want that, do you?
