The Circassian / Caucasian genocide and Soviet persecution not only changed the demographic structure of the Caucasus, but also changed destiny in other geographies.

For example, 7% to 10% of people living in Turkey has Caucasian origin, and the majority of them are Circassians. Mostly they are later generations of those who can survived from the genocide and migrated to anatolia. Yet they are lucky. at least they were not left to complete extinction like Ahiska Turks.
