Erdoğan says U.S. sanctions against Iranian oil are cruel - Iranian Presidential Office

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani in a phone call that U.S. sanctions on Iranian oil were "cruel" and Ankara was enthusiastic about cementing its relations with Tehran, the Iranian Presidential Office said on Saturday.

"We will never accept these cruel sanctions, and we are looking for development of our friendship and cooperation with Iran," the presidential office statement quoted Erdoğan as saying.

Turkey is looking after its interests and it is a strong country unlike the Clowns sitting in Pakistan. Think about it, Iran is Turkey's neighbour. When Turkey can get cheap oil from a neighbour, why would it go all the way to the Middle East to buy oil? The same principal applies to Pakistan. Due to sanctions on Iran, Pakistan can buy oil below market prices from Iran who is a next door country to Pakistan. But Pakistan just does not have the courage to do this, and would rather go all the way to ME to buy oil than to buy cheaper, quicker oil from a neighbour.

The only problem Pakistan has the blackmail it gets from Saudi Arabia and UAE. Unfortunetly Pakistan reputation is not good, but slowly we should make a reputation of a nation that will be friends to all and will do trades with any nation it benefits from. At first we need to get rid of our puppet leaders from all political parties. One the world sees a Pakistani leader who fights for his nation, then they will think twice before blackmailing.

If Pakistan wants to be independent, they should get rid of anyone who is neutral towards US or pro-US. Only anti-US politicians are able to make Pakistan independent.

Lol what do you want some cheerful words from IK? Turkey has curbed Iranian oil imports. You know who has most significant say in IMF bailouts? You know whose sanctions are breaking knees of Russia, China? You know who has given Pakistan breathing room by allowing deferred oil payments for 3 years along with billions in clutch loans? It's not as simple as "grow some balls".

You are correct on all accounts. In all fairness and despite all the hatred present for America on this forum, America did help Pakistan and gave a breathing room by letting up it's heavy hand on IMF. No need to ruffle feathers as now is not the time to be a hero to any brethren. Pakistan can not afford a fight with the sole super power and with the countries which are helping Pakistan, all the while Pakistan is facing a dire situation with it's existing debts. A parting gift from previous rulers.
