Erdogan congratulates Imran Khan on this victory

Mate, Turkey is our friend
Oh my God. There is no such thing. Countries and nations have "interests" that change from time to time. Take Canada-USA relationship. They have been the best of allies for decades but changing now after Trump.

It has already happened 2014 was the year where it has been reported about the 6th ship, now he is even more powerful, what do you think the stolen amount has decreased?
But how is his image among Turkish people because they came out to protect him and now they voted for him to become a very powerful president which borderlines dictatorship?

You jail journalists, you control media, you control peoples perception, you get votes. Was it that difficult? Hitler and other dictators were quite popular in their days

I have received your notifications. I am currently busy at work but I promise I will respond in the coming days.
Thanks. Look forward to it. I am interested in how Edogan and AKP managed to articulate Islam and conservative Muslims into force for economic change. I think you mentioned this before. I am wondering if IK can do the same in Pakistan. Energise the conservative Muslim block in Pakistan to become a economic driver as we have seen in Turkey since AKP won back in early 2000s.

Mate, Turkey is our friend and I have heard a lot of positive things from IK about Mahathir as well but he didn't say anything about Malaysia in his speech. Please remember that he only mentioned the countries with which we have direct interactions and those are not necessarily our friends (for example India, USA, Afghanistan), the only friendly countries were KSA and China but more importantly we are dealing with them much more frequently than many friendly countries like Malaysia and Turkey.

Yes, you are correct. Turkey, however, has been with us through thick and thin. We have always supported each other’s causes regardless of our governments. Kashmir, North Cyprus, Nagorno-Karabakh, Bosnia, PKK, Afghan war.

Turkey is the brother, whether secular or religious head of state, has been on our side since time immemorial.

Sad that some Pakistanis here are fed the trap of the enemies of Turkey and some Turks are still relishing the overthrow of Erdogan’s economic/political Turkish power.

Unlike our brother, Iran, Turkey has never stabbed us in our back. Stood with us when even China bowed out (FATF.)

Malaysia unfortunately has stronger ties with India than with us. Indonesia also. This is mostly because of ASEAN. Pakistan has been neglecting this region for a long time.

I think Imran boycotting Erdogan's speech will have something to do with this - although that was not against Erdogan. The protest was against Nawaz Sharif but nevertheless Erdogan might have taken this personal. In addition I think Shebaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif had cultivated very strong relations with Erdogan. On top of this lots of contracts were signed. Now these could be under threat of exposure. But I think the relationship between Turkey and Pakistan is bigger then any individuals. So I expect as we move forward both will find themselves in lockstep.

Erdogan is best leader in Islamic word currently.he dislike army role in politics and in Pakistan everyone knows ik is backed by army so he is not happy with this

Please, he's good but far from best, he's the one who allowed pride parade's in Turkish cities so EU would make Turkey a member. He's a good leader for Turkey but making him to be an Islamic world's saviour is just astoundingly stupid.

Wow. Dazzling. What a lucid insight that lays bare why Erdogan is being stand offish. It's the 'army' !

Allah help us !

I hope so to as well. The relations between the states should transcend individual likes and dislikes. I'm sure IK will send a positive message to Erdogan and if Modi can congratulate IK, I don't see any reason at all for Erdogan to not do the same especially given the historical nature of our relations and if he is sincere with Turkey, he won't let his personal grudges in the way of relations between Pak-Turkey.

I'm wondering why hasn't Turkey congratulated Imran Khan yet for winning elections. Is his friendship with Sharif's playing a part in it. I'm pretty sure he wanted them to win, as the biggest beneficiaries of Punjab 56 companies sandal was Turkey.

Even Maldives President called Imran Khan today.
I guess he is waiting for IK to be inaugurated as PM. His congratulations will need to be more official.

I just want to add a one thing that NS and SS have done a lot of negative propaganda against IK during their meetings with foreign leaders and they even scared China but what Chinese did was to read Pakistani local politics themselves due to CPEC and its ambassador to Islamabad had been quite active so despite their propaganda, China was among the very first to congratulate IK. I don't think Turkey had the chance to do such a home work but I'm sure these misunderstandings (if any) won't persist for long. Erdogan may like IK's honesty and straightforwardness.
