uhhh stop with the defence things ok its the damn governments job to build infrastructure the army gets their cash and they get their defence from that cash. plus they raise the money themselves too. rather then buying electricity why cant our stupid foolish government do something amazingly no loadsheeding when bb dies or zardari,s birthday or pakistan india match but normal days its done. people are on the street but our great leaders are either in london or korea eating like fat f@#k#..... 1) India itself has more load shedding than Pakistan and is an energy importer. India better help itself than Pakistan.
2) Same advice applies to you. Actually Pakistan's infrastructure is better than India's. At least our people have access to toilets. Cant say the same for India.

As for the riots, people have to wait. There is no magic. If we start to build a large dam, it is atleast going to take ten years, not less and that is if we go by Chinese speed of doing things. Any nuclear power plant would take between five to seven years from the start of construction to production. Any large modern gas power plant would take more than years. With almost 8,000 MW of shortfall we would need to make multiple dams and power plants as by the time they are finished our demand has gone up too, so we have to start building even much more than the 8,000 MW of today's shortfall even maybe double of it. And then there is the issue of the cost.

Dams are multi billion dollar projects with Basha dam costing 12 billion dollars and any modern 1,000 MW gas fired plant comes at near a billion dollar. Any modern nuclear power plant with 1,000 MW capacity costs more than five billion dollars. So things are not cheap exactly and need time specially now that we are short of money as well. Rioting and killings will not help one bit. A medium term solution can be importing of electricity till we build our capacities. Building transmission lines is cheaper and can be done much quicker than building generation capacity. But there should be no importation from India which itself does not have any electricity to spare. Iran is the best option, and they have already offered Pakistan 10,000 MW of electricity which is more than enough to meet our shortage: More than a helping hand: Iran offers to provide 10,000MW – The Express Tribune

It's not about magic. Tell me how we're able to provide electricity to the entire country during some days? It's simple, the power stations do not run at full throttle because that would cause a loss to the government and the private companies. Electrical companies should be nationalised and all losses borne by the government. Electricity should NOT be run for profit or loss

^^^ sir, you are etrribly misinformed in first part of your post. In our cities there is harldy any outages of 2-3 hrs. We don't have that pretty issues and we are moving in right direction as you can see we are making nuclear reactors and dams on river of J & K and other rovers of India. Planning commission has provided enough fund to pursue the projects. W also have national central grid which is world class. Ya, infrastructure wise we are way ahead of Pakistan. You can see that pakistani businessmen are moving to Bangladesh because shortage of electricity. it is not sustainable to do business in pakistan because of terrible planning and infra.

Actually it should run for profit and loss. Just like any other business. In 1990's when a barrel of oil was going for 9 dollars, GOP made a bad decision. They thought oil is going to be cheap forever. So they brought in IPP's all based on oil burning plants. Now we are stuck with them. We have capacity but it is oil based. Who is now going to pay for the oil that needs to be imported? The private company? GOP? You? The answer is clear. The consumer. But that would make electricity too expensive. So that is why our capacity is not operational and is running huge debt. The only way to bring it up is to convert the oil burning plants to gas fired plants and run them on natural gas which in international markets costs a quarter of that the oil for same thermal amount of fuel. The other option would be to import the electricity. Building the transmission line probably would take about a year and would cost a few hundred million dollars. But it would get the job done quickly and cheaply.

I do not see any other solution which is fast and cheap. Do you?

We will solve this. We do not need your help and pittance. At any rate India can not meet Pakistan's shortfall at 10,000 MW. India is itself an importer of energy. So, no, your services are not required.

We have no money, which means no oil , which means no production in thermal stations.
