In West Bengal, Trinamool Congress + Congress has won.Trinamool alone has majority .

In kerala , UDF lead by congress has got a majority of just 2 seats.Congress will find it difficult to complete the term.

In Tamil Nadu , AIADMK + won and jayalalitha will be CM.

In Assam, Congress lead colition won with congress alone backing majority.

In Puducherry , AIADMK + AINRC is going to rule.

okay... now I understand, your upper house Rajya Sabha gets elected through provincial members?...Am I right?

Well actually upper house members are not elected. They are nominated by the parties according to their respective strength in state assemblies and lok sabha. It includes many presidential appointees as well as some people from the civil society etc.

so when are the Lok Sabha elections?

lol Well depends. If the govt. is good, even 5 years seems like a short time.

Besides, conducting elections in a sub-continent sized country with more than a billion electorate is a very very costly affair.

How Electronic Voting Machine works

EVM has two units -

-Control unit and a Ballotting unit - cable wires connected

-Control unit will be with the election official and Ballotting unit will be inside the Voting Compartment

- After your identification is proved, the official will press a button of his control unit and directs you to go to a voting compartment and press ONE blue button on the Ballotting unit

- A small red bulb glows after you have exercised your franchise on the blue button and to indicate your successful voting, a long beep sound is heard

- these simple methods of audio and visual indications assures foolproof voting system by voters
