I believe India should get rid of this cast mentality nonsense. We must help the Dalits and downtrodden but not at the expense of the nation. Reservation steers talent away .....time to nip quickly and asap.

I appreciate the thought, but honestly riots of unimaginable proportions would erupt if any steps were taken by the gov to remove caste based reservations. It really can’t be touched.

Article 370, Kashmir. etc seem untouchable. How do we expect to progress or move forward if we do not correct or fix such issues?

Article 370 is a different animal all together. It’s very localized in comparison. If channels of finance and information from our neighbors can be checked -the spread of protests
is easier to manage. Plus i feel that the separatists will have very limited support from the rest of the country. A response from Pakistan in terms military/diplomacy can also be dealt with. We can and should pull off a victory there.
However, in the case of reservations- years of vote bank politics in most states has ensured a massive amount of population that falls under the quota umbrella. Plus the combined opposition of political parties that this gov is facing right now- will fuel the fire the most. There will be a time to do away with this system- but I feel like now is not the right moment.
